I have two archons and I’ve shot them for close to two years. I’v cut the beaver tail off on both, and one of them has talon pro grip on it. Both have red dots. I cut the beaver tail off because of the way I pull the gun from my holster beaver tails just get in the way for me. Aside from that I liked the beaver tail. I think personally it feels flatter than a Glock. The trigger does feel mushy but the trigger is great feeling. The safety built into the trigger works like a rocker rather than an extra thorn digging into your finger. The way the trigger works is my favorite part, the way the striker works is my least. The mag release being able to be reversed by inserting the magazine backwards is a gimmick and a flaw in my opinion. I’ve inserted a mag backwards once in a training course. I tried to correct the issue quickly and the release didn’t fall out it got logged and I couldn’t even insert a mag and hold it in place. I ended up needing to use a punch to get it un fked. Glocks are better for a multitude of reasons but I carry my archon because I shoot it better, like it more and it’s aesthetically pleasing. Another thing the archon has too many parts glocks are the superior gun in my opinion. But archon is doing something right, I love these guns and I’m hoping for a gen 2 with improvements. My first pistol, my main is nearing the 5k mark for rounds.

No one like "night sights" because their inherent advantage comes from a very small time frame of the day and at a cost of less precise point of aim. If its actual pitch black shooting night sights will make zero difference as the biggest advantage you can have will be a good weapon light and you shouldn't be shooting without positive ID anyways. The people who like them the most are tactical goobers who need a placebo and won't just buy an outright pistol RDS.
@swiftaudi
4 жыл бұрын
I like fiber optic, in a night setting with a light your not going to see anything but the outline of the sight regardless. If your not using a light your not shooting at night. However in low light with no flashlight a tritium sight would be great.

I think they moved production to Italy from Russia due to sanctions, then Germany with Hungarian sub contract for quality. Some shits like that.
@Chris09978
3 жыл бұрын
Those were the older models I think, Hungary made the slide and the frame was made in Germany, and they had issues along the way they were mixed, but was still solid, as of now on their website it shows that the entire handgun is now made in Germany, the Baltimore on the bolt or on the slide is probably a distributor
@Sh1tbagActual
2 ай бұрын
Nah, it’s a little convoluted. The Gun was jointly developed in Italy and Russia. Production was spun up in italy, while the Russian co-designer tried to get a contract with the Russian police. The russian police did a competition between several competing guns, which the Strike One won, but then demanded an absurdly large bribe to get it adopted. The Russian co-designer was then so pissed off that he actually gave up his Russian citizenship and moved to Italy to work with Arsenal full-time. Cut to several years later, and apparently the co-designers had a falling out, but jointly held the patent. So one of them starts Archon Firearms, and begins marketing effectively a compact variant of the Strike One, with production split between Germany and Hungaria. Then, those contracts run out (which is why it disappeared for like 4 years), before he finally gets another production contract in the Czech republic where everything is being made in one place.

@@Noah-mk8wf You can't and shouldn't shoot at an outline. If you can only see outlines, you need a source of light. The other 95% of the time the tritium is useless.

You just need more range time with it, bro. Relax, you're talking like a damn traffic cop: the same company that manufactures Geco ammunition manufactures the Archon Type B. Archon Firearms is a subsidiary of RUAG Holdings, a Swiss company specializing in aerospace engineering and the defense industry. Its headquarters are located in Bern, while it also has numerous production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Austria and the United States. They build everything from aircraft to rockets to armored cars to guns and ammunition. Think of RUAG as the Lockheed Martin/Northrup Grumman of Europe. They're definitely not a fly-by-night, here today, gone tomorrow outfit. Enjoyable review overall and appreciate your sense of humor. Come to Baltimore. I'll teach you how to eat steamed crabs the Maryland-way. Crab cakes are for twats.

When I saw this handgun I thought it was a German made futuristic Glock, the gun looks sick, I too am thinking about buying one and looking into it to make sure that I’m making a decent choice for this handgun About the handgun, the handgun is fully made in Germany, the Hungarians just made the slide, but I think those were older models cause on their website as of now they show German on the frame and slide , the notch or what ever the fuck is called it still shows Baltimore, could be just the distributor who knows

Yeah but the triggers no where neat as nice as a CZ75 , not as accurate, and theyre much lighter so they recoilmore because pistolweight teumps bore axis in terms of felt recoil.
