I think this is going to creep into my top 10 songs from them, maybe even top 5 over time. I've played it about 30-40 times since release haha

Been a fan of Arctic Monkeys for many years now. Enjoyed it on first listen, repeated listens it grew on me to the point where I'd possibly consider it one of the best they've ever released so far. While I'm not saying they can't still make still up tempo stuff, because they can (wouldn't mind either way if it was slower or not though.) I think there's a selection of the band's fans who don't understand they can't just make songs for the rest of their lives about nights out in Sheffield like they did in their teens.

Stylistically sounds a lot like the last album, but it also reminds me of Alex's side project with Miles Kane, The Last Shadow Puppets. They were all about that 60s sound.

May have read somewhere they recorded this latest album in a house Beatles/Zepp/Sabbath also frequented to record material.

The song honestly sounds like a Matt Monro song or an Engelbert one. Really cool.

It's a great tune. I really enjoy that the song relies a lot on Alex's vocals. Hope the vibe of the car sort of means that everyone has a shot to choose a song while driving meaning that depending on the track one member of AM will have the spotlight.

The aesthetic is pretty much a continuation of the last album although that focused a lot more on the style of Stanley Kubrick and they made the last album around that.. no intentional tribute to the Beatles I'd say

I miss their up tempo stuff, the last album was more experimental and this looks like it might be going with a similar vibe. Still a vibing track though

I haven't been a fan of their last two albums now, on first listen I didn't enjoy this track either but its actually growing on me! I like the lyrics a lot and the attitude behind the track is very cool. I'm excited to hear the rest of the album but I have a feeling its going to be much of the same sort of thing this song has. Hopefully they surprise me.

It's crazy because the next song on the album ("I ain't quite where I think I am", wich they've already played live) it's a shift, a more up tempo and funky. I've never guessed that this song was the opener for a record, I could've imagined like a closer one. But since The Ultracheese closes TBHC, I think they made a connection there, and tried to say us something. But yeah, they never are what people think they are. Surprises are a given.

Hmm not really my type of song but I do love that you guys review so many genres with an open mind If I’m going more mellow I prefer Of Monsters an Men types but maybe that’s more folk 🤷♂️ Dude has a great voice though

My mate told me his interpretation of this song and it made me sad. Basically this song, like the lyrics and the overall tone, would on the outside seem like a breakup song. But he says that this album could possibly be a fair well from the band. Because after TBHC came out some people didn’t like the change in tone from AM and found it boring compared to their earlier work. So in this song Alex is kind of speaking on behalf of the fans saying there’d better be great song to keep the band alive (there’d better be a mirrorball) and to be happy about all the other music they’ve put out over the years instead of being critical about certain songs or albums (I’d throw the rose tint back on the exploded view) and to stop being cynical about whether this is going to be another TBHC and just appreciate what they do release.

Hey guys, recent subscriber! What type of metal do you guys NOT like? I know Nathan isn't too fond of the harsh vocals. I myself can't stand power metal. We saw a power metal band open for a big act years ago, and the singer was like "This next song is called... 'At Dawn... YOU DIE'!!" My best friend and I were like "Aw man, we have to wait till dawn..." Anyway, I hope this comment finds you guys well :)

🤣🤣🤣 lucky you made it through that fateful dawn! Nath isn’t too much into really unintelligible black metal/death metal. Johnny is just a little more selective with bands in those sub genres. We both just love guitar driven music.
