2024.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition: Lap Time 2:01.5
I am running the smooth power map (Gravel/Wet) with throttle response and engine braking minimized and traction control maximized - all of these make for very smoother power map - kind of a "350 Factory Edition" map. The reduced engine braking frees up the bike and gives it a little more playful and lighter feel in motion. Not a huge difference but noticeable. Also running a softer Enduro/Classic suspension setting from the KTM CUO app. Has a 60hp 450F ever been so easy to ride? Such smooth and long pulling power that makes this bike so fun to ride! I was hoping to feel more compliance and a plusher ride with the updated chassis but like all brand new KTM450SXF"s this bike feels stiff and harsh for the first few hours. I have about 3 hours ride time so far and the chassis and suspension are breaking in and feeling better much more quickly than my 23.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition. This 23/24.5 chassis is a great combination of cornering and stability.
2024 Husky FC350 Laptime: 1:57.4
4-seconds faster than my 450FE time!!! 350's have long been my favorite overall combination of Power/Weight/Handling and this updated engine and lowered suspension on this FC350 continues the tradition. This is the best stock 350 engine I've ridden to date. I've ridden a '23 350SXF many times but this 24 FC350 seems to run a bit smoother at the initial turn of the throttle and feels crisper and a little stronger in the mid range and continues to pull from mid to top. One of the best overall 4-stroke dirt bike engines available today. The lowered suspension setting is noticeable first sitting on the bike and in cornering (especially corner entrance). Even at 6'2" tall (and 190 lbs) I still prefer lower seat heights. Brad at RideWorx re-vlaved and added a bladder to the rear shock. Brad has an excellent rear shock setting for the new KTM/Husky/Gas Gas chassis.
I've been on the fence about getting a new '24 Austrian 350. The ride today on this 24 FC350 knocked me off the fence....I need a few 350!
