I think you're spot on. We need to switch bait once in a while. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I think you're exactly correct in your reasoning. Athena is an exceptional dog and she's even teaching YOU on some aspects. My suggestion (and I'll try it myself) is the next time is snows, start checking for tracks that appear to avoid the trap set like what Athena does. I would guess that you and I will see the same thing. Great video once again and I hope you had a Merry Christmas.

I would say you are spot on that is why we need to be changing our baits up at every set. If they are associating this by what they are smelling. Take it for what it is worth but this is just my opinion on this.

Your dog has learned from reputation and being caught plus your training has taught your dog way more intelligent than a wild animal

Good video, pretty interesting stuff to think about. I definitely think if a trap snaps and misses the coyote they are going to be way tougher to catch in the future. That is amazing watching Athena avoid those trap locations!

Does Athena have a little heeler in her? Those are some really smart dogs... I have a fox that has flipped a trap out of the bed and doesn't necessarily avoid a set but will blow by it continuously. I think it's one I caught it and released about two years ago.

I had her DNA done and she is 1/3 blue healer, 1/3 border collie and 1/3 Aussie Shephard

I live about 30 minutes south of Branson in Arkansas… It’s VERY rocky here !!! Could you do a video on how you deal with the solid rock terrain.. I assume it’s like that where you trap..
