Very realistic. Most people aren’t able to remain disciplined enough especially when life starts hitting the fan.

They aren’t a trap if you’re not stupid (don’t overspend on your card, that’s what causes people to go broke VERY quickly)

Yeah, but looking at Stanley Cup craze and riot lately, I think we have serious consumerism issue.

I’ve used credit cards for over 15 years (since I was 18) and have never owed a balance. There’s been many times I’ve wanted/needed something I couldn’t afford so I didn’t get that thing. Going to credit card debt has never been an option in my mind. People just aren’t content living within their means.

I only have a $300 credit limit and I ONLY use $90 of it (aka 30%). I have around 6k in savings and idk what to do with it but I’m not touching it no way! I’m 19 and my credit score is 719, and I’m in college so I don’t have a car and I live off campus.

I use my credit card for my emergency fund. Then I pay it off with the money in my savings account. Why not get the 2% cash back?

Credit cards are not a trap, they just require a certain amount of experience, wisdom and discipline to use correctly. A bad workman blames his tools. Start with learning how to manage your cash well, then progress to credit cards if/when you're financially mature enough.

Yeah that’s why everyone need a budget, and an emergency fund, before they do bs stuff. It’s really not that hard just stick to a plan and make small adjustments along the way.

@@tomoore1776 let me explain myself a bit the average house price is 400k 100k after tax is about 70k so a house is roughly 6x your income 50 years ago the median which is in theory middle class household salary was about 10k while the average house was about 24-25k so a house was 2.5x your income pretax or about 3x your income after tax so by that standard in order to be middle class now you would to make 200k per year to be middle class now
