Cheap Trick and Eswing tools are the pride of Rockford Illinois. I have a Live at Budokan album for listening to and a 22oz Eswing framer for demo projects. Cheers from Chicago!

@@kgilliagorilla2761 What a great image that is 👌 I like that the brand is a source of pride over there. Companies need to remember that before sending production to other countries. Folks don't just buy the product, we buy the heritage and story too. Thanks for your message.

My oldest Estwing is over 60 years old . It was my father's who was also a carpenter . Estwing are one of those tools , that look better with age . The patina is ace .

@@TheSavagederek that's a great testament to the quality. And I totally agree, the older they get, the better they look.

Im 35. Been doing carpentry for about ten years. Using my dads estwing that he used for 50 years. So hammer is going on 60 years old and going strong.

That's so good to hear. I love a tool with a story and a history.

@@ToolReviewsofToolsIUse yeah I got a great pic of my two year old son trying to drive nails with it and sent it to my mom saying dads hammer is now a 3rd generation tool! I got his craftsman level and master mechanic four foot level as well. Calibrate them when they need it and use em on the job daily. I wish I had had the space to take his whole shop when he passed but I was more or less living on the road at that time and just took what I could fit in my truck.

@@adamguinnmusic5871 that's brilliant. That reminds me, I have a great pic somewhere from about 7 years ago where my lad was using this estwing to lay floor gripper.

are those the 16oz or 20 oz ones?

They're the 20oz ones. They are general purpose ones for me so I find a 20oz can replace a 16oz but not so much the other way around.

Recently lost my blue handles claw hammer down a cavity had it 32 years ,bought the leather handled one as a replacement and dislike it ,when nailing it makes a really high pitched pinging noise, hurts my ears.

That is such a shame. So funny that you mention that about the leather one though. I got rid of a straight claw leather one because of that exact issue. It was like trying to hammer a nail with a tuning fork😂. Apparently it's quite a common thing. My curved claw hammer doesn't 'ping' anywhere near as bad luckily, but for general use I still prefer the blue handles.

@@ToolReviewsofToolsIUse yep it is a straight claw and the tuning fork thing is exactly what it sounds like.

I would say so. Estwing steel seems very good, and the grips are pretty durable. Those leather ring handle hammers are incredible!

Absolutely. And the leather ones are beautifully made. Thanks for watching.

Great topic,, 👍. I'm nearly 68, and have been gradually acquiring top quality tools, since I retired,,.. I couldn't have "state of the art" gear, when working, due to A, not being able to afford them, and B, someone would probably pinch them,, 🤣,, My dilemma is that my 2 sons, wouldn't appreciate expensive great tools, and are not into any form of DIY,, So, when I die, my wife will probably "give" my Pride and Joy's, to a random house clearance company, when she moves into a little flat, for her final years,, !!!,, Oh, well,, at least I can enjoy them, before I'm too feeble, to swing one of my expensive hammers,, ha ha.. All the best,, from an OAP,, 🤣👍🔨🛠️

Thank you for watching. I've always said that wheni die, I hope my Mrs doesn't sell my tools for what I told her that they cost!😄 I don't know how old your sons are, but you never know, they might just get in to home maintenance one day and surprise you. All the best.
