Hi Andrew and David, as a Chinese student in us, I really feel related to the videos you made. You guys covered a lot of cuisines in China. However, the Hui cuisine from my hometown Anhui, one of the eight culinary traditions of Chinese cuisines, is never mentioned. Although I know it is not popular in us (even couldn't find one myself in NY), I still hope to see it in your video one day!

It's amazing how restaurants at least in New York are making tradtional Chinese foods. I'm sure in the US many people still believe Chop Suey, Sweet and Sour Chicken are true Chinese . You guys rock and I wish you both good health .

God I hope not. But I know people do think that. Or that Chinese people only eat “weird” things. Very upsetting. Hope they find these videos to witness good Chinese food!

I definitely noticed this around the Rutgers - NB area in New Jersey (Edison, NJ for example). We have more regional Chinese restaurants in the area around campus (and on campus) than when I graduated a decade ago! Love it!

They actually have kao leng mian (烤冷面)aka grilled cold noodles in the northeast of china (Jilin, Harbin), etc. too! From what I understood, it's derived from Korean cold noodle (naengmyun) so that's why it's more prevalent in the North/Northeast, because there's a higher amount of ethnic Koreans there.
@danicadou3534

yeah i was also going to say that lol, it’s originally from Heilongjiang, which is in the northeast of China. You can easily buy them at any gates in front of the school lol, it’s a very common street food in northeast

Nice to see these small businesses featuring different takes on Chinese cuisine. Though I am curious how these graduates were able to fund their ventures. Assuming they all had to pay off their college/university tuition on top of rent/renovations/operations of their new restaurants.

It’s call bullshit. You actually think these international students have money of their own after university to start anything at all...it’s called CHINA MONEY FROM THE PARENTS. I’m as old as the Fung Bros and I never came close to having the funds available to start my ANY businesses 10 years ago and mind you it would of been a lot cheaper 10 years ago when I graduated.
