I have a heatpump and my pipework is 10mm all is working well, so far. However it has to be said that my house is a very modern well insulated house.

Thank you for the comment! That is great a heat pump has integrated so well into your home. New builds with excellent insulation really take to the technology well! If we can offer a heat pump with minimal disruption to the pipework already in place it is brilliant!

Thanks for the advice. I want a ASHP to replace my gas bolier. My pipes to radiator are 10mm. How does one go about changing them to 15mm - isn't that going to mean ripping up all the walls and be prohibitively expensive? What cost is involved?

It ultimately depends on how much pipework you need to change in order to achieve the radiator output you require. A qualified heat engineer should be able to tell you this and advise accordingly. You don't always need to change full runs but ideally you do to reduce balancing down the line. In terms of costs, it's hard to predict without knowing how much pipework needs to be changed. Hope this helps.

See above as I’ve 10mm pipes and my system works well. We are in our 70 and like heat so our house is set to 23°c all day and 20°c at night. We live in a 10 year old three bedroom semi.
