You have obviously not met entitled men and entitled elderly men. It’s not a phase for many it’s a way of life imbedded into their morals. It’s sick and disgusting. As a teen who worked in retail the things men of all ages would say to me were awful. And it’s the reason I’m trying to never work I’m retail or the food industry again.

I’ve got gender dysphoria. I had to wear plaid dresses to mass every day, I was told to and was never one to question rules. I was always so uncomfortable. Catholic school sucked, we had a kid steal flowers from a Mother’s Day breakfast to give to a girl I our class who literally threw them out and when she came out of the bathroom he pinned her to a locker. This is middle school btw. “Gay” was considered a swear word at school. In all context. Some kid called a guy who wasn’t exactly masculine but wasn’t feminine either gay in grade 4 and they sent him to the principals office for swearing.... oh yeah not to mention no sex Ed in catholic schools. I’m in grade 10 and some girl in my class still hasn’t had the talk. Thankfully my friend group has a really chill enby, some lesbians, chill guys, and we’re just generally nonconforming to our environment and they make me feel safe
@EvanNeedsTherapy

tl;dr, catholic schools are super old fashioned force gender roles ignore lgbt existence and don’t give sex Ed bc it’s on the parents to do that... cough that’s awkward and orphans cough. My parents pay a fortune to send me to this hell hole help. I mostly learned from the internet but when I was 11 my mom gave me the talk with detail and it was fucking gross because she was giving like demonstrations and all I could think abt was my parents fucking. I’d rather watch awkward videos and glance around the classroom at the other traumatized children

Apparently when the original creator of Mercedes Benz was making his first car, he wasn’t confident it would work. fanny mendelssohn was actually responsible for a lot of felix mendelssohn’s compositions. same happened with clara schumann and robert schumann and i’m sure more alma mahler, gustav mahlers wife was also banned from composing but mahler was such an odd character that it’s difficult to tell whether that was because of her gender or because of something else.
@radiomandelbrot5868
3 жыл бұрын
@@nickr288 yeah you're right I recall that about Clara Schumann. But, Felix Mendelssohn apparently admitted to some compositions being from his sister and they seemed to have had a good relationship, so I doubt that a lot of his compositions were from her. A lot of his compositions were influenced by her, though, since he consulted her often. At least he was open about this, and I mean those times were pretty stifling for women so that attitude of recognizing her talent and contributions could perhaps even be seen as progressive. Unlike Mahler who was a complete asshole. He only married Alma under the condition that she abandoned art. And it was the 20th century already, unlike the two others. To me there's not doubt that it came from pure misogyny. I've seen residues of that mindset at uni in visual arts and musical composition. There are still those kinds of guys who get together with female artists but do everything to feel better or more important than them. They'll only hang out with women who admire them, and will be extremely stingy with their compliments. Like their mere presence should be taken as some kind of blessing. They feel threatened by women who're seriously good and will try to get with them to prove to themselves that they can dominate them by repressing the woman's potential. So they drain her mental energy by being emotionally abusive so the woman has to give all her juice to the guy and doesn't have anything left to create. They're big fucking weirdos and unfortunately not that rare. I've seen it happen. I've also seen guys turn down talented women because they felt like the relationship would be competitive, even if the woman had no intention of doing that.

@UltArcRanger her saying that doesn’t prove she hates men. Secondly, the fact that you’re so easily influenced into hating women, isn’t a product of the action-reaction concept. It’s just misogyny. Women have a plethora of reason for disliking men. Men hate women because they feel that way. Just like you and the other Neanderthal expressed. So yeah. You too only proved her point. Instead of getting mad at them for saying that try looking into why they said that in the first place because most times it’s not coming from a place of spite.
@user-sp5ck4fs1n
3 жыл бұрын
@UltArcRanger it’s not a matter of living by certain rules. It’s looking at history. Historically women have never oppressed men or had an grand amount of power over them. Even to this day it’s still very evident for many women. “I could easily use your logic against you...” you can’t. Because I have looked into the “reasons”, men have no actual reasons for hating women that are rooting from plain ole misogyny. Again. Men are mad that women feel the way they do even though with women that feeling isn’t coming from a place of spite, but simply being tired of living in a world where they are constantly put down by both men and other women alike, and those reasons, again are rooted from misogyny. Meanwhile men’s “reasons” are coming from a place of spite. This isn’t special pleading, it’s the result of women not being forced to be quiet because of men’s issues and faults and fucked up mindset towards them. You see, this issue isn’t black and white. It has many layers, ones some men usually overlook. Which is what is happening here. Which is why you see this issue as “special pleading” and “cherry picking” when it’s not.

It's damn refreshing to hear people reading these posts and actually calling them out for what they often are: sexist, abusive, misogynistic, and awful. And occasionally funny in a weird, terrible sort of way.
