Haha. I was doing my best to avoid cracking that one on the video, and knew someone would say it... congrats, you're the one 🤣 I assume, with the cost of living, the "visit" will now be 10p 😎 Cheers.

Hi, I think it will happen one day, just not in the next 20 years at least. There's so much planning that a government would have to consider due the effect on the economy of the country involved... a penny increase from 99pp to £1 once, acceptable, but every item, every day? Doesn't sound like a lot at the beginning, but in the long run the cost of living would go up. In the UK we have VAT included in the price, but in the US, for example, tax is calculated when you go to pay. How would you pay the odd 1,3,7,9 cents without a 1 cent coin? The same would apply anywhere else. Enough doom & gloom... have a great day. Cheers.

I've heard that, but I'm not too good on US coins. The 1 cent is now copper plated steel, but was previously bronze, a mix of copper and about 12% tin. I think the change over was in 1992... so you'd be looking at pre-1992 1 cent coins for "copper" stacking. Shouldn't be too hard to do as the US still has "pennys" from at least 100 years ago in circulation. Good luck. Cheers.

I have to laugh, most of the news article is just waffle and then you do a 6 minute and 22 second video of waffle. I do not want to see coins scrapped, but I think that 1p and 2p have had their days now, I would sooner pay £2.00 for something, rather than £1.99 and having a penny in my pocket, or rather piggy bank. It would save a lot of hassle from taking coins and melting them down, or producing more needless coins. However, hopefully not in my life time, but we will see money scrapped and just a cashless based society. We are already heading towards a Star Trek universe where they have scrapped currency in European Countries, so you have just the euro. The future has already been written and sadly, we cannot do anything to change that future.

Ah, but the waffle I was avoiding related to the fluffy filler type, used by the media. My waffle was pertinent to the topic (and I don't think I strayed off topic too much... unlike the media 😎). As for going cashless, I agree, and also not likely in my lifetime either. That said, if it was based on the Star Trek world, the whole planet would have to go cashless, else we'd be over run with Ferengi and their gold pressed Latinum bars & strips, but that's another issue. Cheers.
