This is not a true Genomic Sequencing test so it's not an accurate measure of whether they're identical or not. These are just statistical test results, meaning they compare your DNA against the rest of the people in their database. That means, even for identical multiples, it will be different according to the order in which they enter the database. The base numbers have obviously gone up by the time tbe second or the third one is entered. Ask them if they can provide a genomic sequence for the girls, which actually measures the nucleotides in their DNA. If they're identical, they would all have the same sequence.

To the people saying they aren’t identical. Let’s have a quick biology lesson. Although rare, 25-30% of identical twins can be in different sacs. It just depends on when the embryo split. If split earlier in the pregnancy, they are more likely to be in separate sacs. We know if they’re all identical, the embryo split very early in the pregnancy creating twins. The Eliana embryo in one sac and the Esther/Evelyn embryo in another sac. The Esther/Evelyn embryo split a little later in the pregnancy, so they shared a sac and created Triplets. This also explains why Esther and Evelyn have closer results. They had less environmental differences, so they have less environmental differences on their DNA. Eliana had a different environment, so yeah she’ll have extremely close, but slightly different DNA from her sisters because of environmental effects on the DNA. Being identical does not mean you have perfectly the same DNA. It means you all came from the same embryo. One sperm and one egg created you all. Your DNA is obviously very very similar if you came from the same embryo, but not necessarily identical DNA because of environmental effects. That’s why if you look up if they can forensically tell the difference between identical twins given they have a large enough sample, the answer is YES! They can differentiate identical twins based on minute differences in DNA caused by different environments. Even being on one side or the other of a shared sac constitutes a different environment. Yes, their original DNA is the exact same if they are identical, but you’re failing to take into account these environmental differences in the womb and environmental differences after birth that slightly alters their DNA. Not to mention, you’re not taking into account the vast inaccuracies of these commercial DNA tests. There have been many instances of identical twins, triplets, and quadruplets who were confirmed identical via shared sac using these commercial DNA tests and getting different ethnic make ups. I do tend to agree that the test they used does not prove anything even if accurate as it does not go over their entire genome. Just small parts that are commercially interesting. If they get a test that goes over the entire genome and it still says they are like 98-99% similar, they’re identical because let’s be real people… how many genes does the average person have? BILLIONS? You know what happens during meiosis? Genetic recombination of BILLIONS of genes. So your argument of them NOT being identical is really the 1 in several billion, maybe even 1 in several trillion or quadrillion chance that several billion genes reorganized themselves twice to create 2 combinations that were 98-99% similar???! If that were actually true, man, that would be more impressive than if they were actually identical!!!!! lol

Hi! I have the BRCA 1 gene mutation, I highly recommend getting your entire family (especially mom and dad for his female relatives) tested for Chek2. Just like my BRCA 1 mutation (which I had a preventative mastectomy for at 24), the Chek2 mutation increases risk of breast cancer. If you’re positive then increased breast cancer screening should be started, and if you’re open to it preventative care is often recommended (but not required). If you’d like any support group connections or need to chat I’m always here ❤️❤️ Please don’t wait mom!! Cancer can happen at any adult age, especially with these genes! This gene testing kit could have just save your life

So true. We had no history of cancer in our family that had any genetic link. So it was a complete shock when I discovered a lump in my breast shortly after my mother passed away from a stroke. I was able to get genetic testing done which indicated that it was a random case of breast cancer probably related to the infertility medication that I took for 3 years at increasingly higher doses each month. Thankfully I caught it extremely early measuring.09 mm stage 1A hormone positive hertz negative. Unfortunately the chemo drug Tamoxifen didn’t jive with my body and endometrial cancer cells started growing which lead to more surgeries and chemo treatments which thankfully are over and I am cancer free. My sisters get yearly mammograms and Pap smear done to monitor their health, but they aren’t at a higher risk because of what I had. I am the middle daughter out of 5 girls and I was barely 40 when I found it during a self exam in the shower. I literally had to show each doctor where it was because they couldn’t find it. Thankfully it was also a slow growing cancer that didn’t spread because I was scheduled for 2 major spinal surgeries days after I got my diagnosis and was hospitalized for a month and a half due to complications in surgery. 2011 was a crazy year and not one I would want to repeat ever again.

@@meiraloraduncan8953 I’m considered at an elevated risk because my mother had breast cancer twice in the same breast a decade apart, her first at 36, and two different types of tumours (both oestrogen receptive) so not a reoccurrence. She was actually diagnosed at her supposed to be 10yr all clear you graduate from us now appointment. I was 12 the second time. My mother had Tamoxifen too but she responded well and was on it the full 5 years. Being thrown into menopause didn’t look fun. It was recommended that I start getting breast ultrasounds and mammograms every 2 years from 26, which I did twice, but then they changed the guidelines and the recommendations due to the radiation exposure and the fact I’m young with no kids means something about my breast tissue composition compared to someone who’s had children. I’m in Australia. So now I just get breast ultrasounds every 2yrs. Apparently the ultrasounds show good detail as well so it might be worth having both done in future as I did originally. We haven’t had genetic testing yet as my mother is the first in her family and 1 of 4 girls but they’re going to do the BRCA genes for her first and me later if she tests positive. I assume mammograms may come again later when I’m older as I won’t be having kids due to a genetic illness and I am only 34 now. You’ve actually reminded me that I need to get my ultrasound imaging as I missed it in 2020 due to covid (I’m very immunocompromised). I’d better get on that. I’m glad you’re through it now and hope you are doing ok and remain cancer free.
