Ahhh ...Deedee is becoming a connoisseur and gets it that the thinner the skin the better than wontons ! Machine made wontons or second rate restaurants use thicker skins so they won't break as easily, place they don't taste the same when you bite into them.

You can eat dumpling whatever way you like but Cantonese seldom eat it with a.lot of sauces. And we don't really drink wonton soup with such a loud noise😂

Even in M'sia if you want good tasty dumpling & wonton you need to go to the stall made by mainland Chinese themselves Those made by local Chinese never taste as good

It was just under $10 for the whole family meal. This is a little on the expensive side for wontons & dumplings, but I guess you pay extra for the freshness of them!

What's funny about the Chinese interactions with your kids is they always praise their Mandarin when it should be natural and logical that a Chinese-born kid should speak perfect Mandarin. You just don't see this in the West. Nobody goes up to Constance Wu or Gemma Chan and go, "You speak perfect English!" But I guess the rarity of a Caucasian kid speaking perfect Mandarin gets them.

R SS: There aren't too many foreigners in China. Most foreigners in China don't speak much Chinese, and so when one speaks it well, people are surprised. I live in Canada, and once a job interviewer complimented me on my English even though Canada has numerous non-whites who are fluent in English.
