I went to 7AM daily Mass on Tuesday at the Cathedral in Raleigh, NC. There were 7 young college age men attending Mass together. I heard them say at the end of Mass that they did not plan all of them to be there. As I was leaving the Cathedral these men were standing around in a circle singing Salve Regina in Latin. That was absolutely so beautiful to see these young men living their faith.

Dear Grace Force folks, ever since I became seriously ill in March, I find that I no longer care about the eschatological things, prophecies, apparitions, seers, or any disheartening events going on in the Church and the world. Being homebound now, it's enough for me to simply praise God for tiny, everyday things and the sweet kindness of others. Such as being able to get out of bed with a painful illness, and the unexpected kindness of strangers. There are many more very good people out there than we think. God bless! My dad was a Protestant Army Officer but agreed to raise us kids as Catholic in order to marry my mother back in the 50s. There were 5 of us by the time he was sent to Vietnam 1969-1970 and despite his efforts to receive an Infantry command, he wound up in a desk job as part of the Intelligence work behind the US forces. He was one who came home alive. He and my mother wrote each other EVERY DAY of his year in Vietnam. My sister and I have finally had the opportunity to read all those letters. We're about 8 months in. It has amazed us how my Dad was still so keenly involved in our lives from the other side of the world!!! We ranged in age from 2-1/2 to 12 years old. My mother would report each of our successes and struggles. And shortly my Dad would respond with praise or corrections as if he were right there with us. It was especially striking when my mom reported my Dad's correction of our baby brother which began by telling him to listen carefully to what he was about to say. My mom reported that my brother got very quiet and oh so carefully set down the toy cars he was holding and listened intently!!! He wasn't yet 3 years old!!! Awesome!!! And by the way, my dad was a West Point graduate who retired as a full Colonel in 1974 after more than 30 years service. I can't count the number of times I heard him recommend "peace through strength!" Also, lest you imagine him as the sort of aggressive jerk that most people seem to imagine you become in the military, he was actually so soft spoken and gentle that he genuinely frightened me just a couple years before he died in 2016 when (outdoors and some distance from me) he demonstrated his outdoor combat voice for the one time I ever heard it! WOW!! He wound up in a wheelchair in a nursing home and ALL the staff commented on how engaging and sweet he was. By all accounts, he may have lived the most Christlike life of anyone I've ever met. Peace through strength and leadership through calm assertive service ... that was my Daddy!!! Thanks for another encouraging and informative video!!

I'm a lapsed Catholic, haven't frequented the sacrament in years, perhaps decades. I felt like this year could be a new beginning. Then one day (about amonth ago), a coworker's ex spouse dies (assisted suicide), so i prayed the Divine Mercy prayer (Eternal Father, I offer you...) often that day, including at the time he was supposed to pass. Seems that all hell broke loose afterwards. Anger/bitterness with God came back with a vengeance, calling out God for willing me into existence, for burdening me with the poisoned gift of life etc.Camping is not for everyone. Parachute jumping is not for everyone. A desk job is not for everyone. Life per se is not for everyone. Wish God only gave life to folks who have a decent shot at happiness and contentment, this world. If I could go back at the moment of my conception, I'd choose to not exist. Too much torture, torment, affliction for so little joy and good times. I know St Paul said that if you have food and shelter, you ought to be satisfied. I wonder how Kind David or Salomon would have felt about that.

Back in 1995, we made the unpopular decision to home school our children. I faced much opposition but held strong. We used Catholic curriculum and received all the sacraments regularly and prayed daily as a family at home. Our three oldest children no longer practice their faith and our oldest son as renounced his baptism and has cut himself off completely from the family. We do not even know where he is. I do my best to except this great suffering as a purification for my own sins and those of my family, but sometimes I forget that God is in control and I break down. Two years ago, while at Adoration, Our Lord introduced me to Our Lady of Sorrows and I find much comfort and encouragement in praying the seven sorrows rosary. I encourage others to practice this wonderful devotion and, Patrick, I bought your book as soon as Scepter publishers announced it! It is wonderful for adults as well as children!!! Thank you!

Thank you Fr for saying that when when you go to Mass you want to hear the Priest awakening the people. It’s true it’s so casual ! Yes we have an excellent choir that does give us great show tunes but that’s not what I want to hear . It’s beautiful but I want the Priest to talk to the people. I went to Mass with the oblates and Fr. Broom gave an outstanding sermon of jealousy and how to overcome it . I go to my church and my Pastor seems like he’s going through the motion. But yet the other two Priests give beautiful homilies. But nothing like the Oblate’s I must say Fr . God bless the Grace Force Podcast . Yes Fr we need A AWAKENING CAUSE SOME OF THE PRIESTS ARE SLEEPING!! It’s time to wake up !! I Feel it and I’m sure other people do too.

WELL SAID! Pride, Lust, Anger, Gluttony etc. I'm 79 years of age and it is different from what I was raised with, but much wiser, in my opinion. God knows the particulars and does not need to have his Priest spend time counseling! If needed, make an appointment for personal meeting!

@@miaberk5372 To begin with I'm 75 myself. I know what it was like in my younger days as well. If you'll go back and try to accurately re-read my comment, you'll see that I did not call him a publican. I was referring to him having the same attitude of the Pharisee towards the publican who was taking his time admitting his failures and faults to God and asking God for His Mercy. You do remember that parable don't you? Also, it's up to the individual priest hearing the confession to determine for himself if that person could use his his counsel. It's not something that one would ordinarily ask the priest to do if there were long lines for confession. I do make requests for private confession if I'm in need of spiritual direction. The person I was responding to had a very condescending attitude toward folks who may have been receiving spiritual direction at the discretion of their priest.

Yes. A decade or so ago I had a dream that some great evil was coming.. I had my kids come- and we ran into church. At first we were the only ones… but then more and more started filling the church! When it was full a woman / nun- walked around, and as metal collars appeared on some people’s necks and if they didnt turn to God, evil was allowed to take that person out of the church. The nun would make sure the metal collar person aware of the collar. Was odd. One appeared on my 5 y/o sons’ neck. He began crying.. and I woke up from the dream. He is grown and not going to church…. I’m praying for him.

One of the this that has made confession mire meaningful to me is writing out my confession. I identify the sin, then tell my story. When I confession my sin U then ask the priest if he wants. The story. He usually doesn't need the story. Please note, I have had priests thank me for my thoroughness. Writing also helps me remember what area I need to work on.

Happened in Metuchen, NJ @ St Francis Cathedral on the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday. Confessions are from 1-2pm, except last Saturday they were still on going at 3:30pm… 1 priest had to tag team for another due to a prior commitment. Think the word about Divine Mercy is spreading, not just an eclipse thing.

Warm greetings from Australia 🦘 I went to Confession a few days ago (post Divine Mercy novena), trembling with emotion. The very old priest, after he heard my confession - I have just returned to the Catholic faith after a very, very, very long absence (convert; not cradle) - said to me, "you're Biblical, you've had a colourful past". He then suggested I read the bit in the Gospel of St John about the Samaritan woman. I then said to the priest, "yes, I know that story well. Jesus didn't really need a drink. It was a pretext to start a conversation with her". I have a little chuckle about the whole thing when I think about the incident.

Hi everyone. I'm a lapsed Catholic. Tough life, as a result, lots of anger directed at God. Anger sometimes turns into rage, but it doesn't happen as often now. IF a rosary falls into my hand (I find it, get it in the mail or someone gives it to me etc.) I commit to pray it for 40 days, and to do it fervently. I could even do the Ave Marias in Latin. I've begged God for this, that, the other thing throughout my life. It seems that he willed for me to be miserable, at least it very much seems like I was willed into existence to lose. I've never ever considered life to be a gift, but a cruel burden that I'd be happy to be rid of. So, no more begging. But perhaps the Virgin Mary could get my heart to soften up and accept God, and accept the pot he made me (the potter analogy in the Bible), which has brought massive, massive pain, torment and affliction. Perhaps God does love me, but bringing me into this world unequipped to face it was not done out of great love and care for me.

There were long lines for the confessional at the parish I went to on the Saturday before Divine Mercy as well. But to be honest, it brings up a massive problem we have in my diocese: Most of our priest take off starting the Monday after Easter, so there are no confessions heard during the week before Divine Mercy Sunday, and on Divine Mercy weekend there are a number of visiting priest in place with very long lines because there have been no confessions in the prior week. Am I the only one to face this? Do not other diocese have this problem as well? I understand that holy week is grueling for priest, but I sincerely wish they would wait one more week before they take vacation. I’ve been Catholic for over 20 years and it’s been a problem every single year since I became Catholic.

Find a TLM. daily TLM likely have a priest and the confessional for at least 20 or 30 minutes before mass. Since there’s no Saturday evening anticipation mass ( But they have Saturday morning mass and probably confession before that) they have Sunday morning confessions as well before the TLM.

@@femaleKCRoyalsFan I do sometimes attend the local SSPX since my parish lost our TLM in the purge a couple of years ago. They only have Mass on Sunday though, no daily Mass. Plus any TLM I have attended doesn’t offer the Divine Mercy devotion. Neither our local FFSP or SSPX. The TLM isn’t always the answer as much as I love it, lol.

When Jesus was born a great light “star” was seen in the sky and then some 30 years later Jesus comes on the scene. 30 years later is the key…after seeing the great “star” in the sky everyone went back to their daily lives forgetting what they had just witnessed. Before 1st Saturday Mass I personally felt anxious, but after I felt peace. Like many others I’ve been lazy and haven’t been faithfully doing the Divine Mercy novena every year or attending 1st Friday or Saturday Mass, this past week I resolved to repent as I heard sooooo many others felt compelled to do as well. Confession lines were multiple hours long and no one walked away!!! Praise be to God!!!

I think Helicopter parent means not allowing your kids to grow up ie: calling a college about why your kid didn’t get accepted and throwing a fit. Or calling you 21 year old’s employer and giving them a hard time. or babying your kid and saying the teacher in school is wrong, and your kid does nothing wrong. etc etc etc That is what helicopter parent is, smothering your kids, getting involved in college/employer stuff when kid is an adult. etc.
