So today we're talking about... Hydration! So exciting, I know. Stick with me. This is so important, regardless of whether you run, train, or race at all! We all know water is a fundamental, but is it enough?
For years I focused all of my run training around the act of running and nutrition. I paid almost no attention to hydration and a proper electrolyte balance, and race after race I repeatedly found myself hitting the wall.
As a distance trail runner I was focusing so much of my attention in the wrong direction, not realizing the importance of proper hydration and electrolytes. No longer! I feel I've finally cracked the code. And along with some great coaching and lab testing I am a stronger runner than I've ever been before. So if you feel like you've been repeatedly hitting a wall in your progress, have hope, there's always light at the end of the tunnel!
