Great stuff Lorie! I have not seen you in years but I was recently thinking about how to incorporate healthy living habits into my client's routine (I'm an eco-vegetarian yogi and moved back to my small town farming roots recently to improve my quality of life, eat locally, drink untreated water and so on...). I was so thrilled to see you spreading good things about food choices. Keep up the good work and let me know if I can ever help you with anything!

I recently saw a video about the egg debate. it started exactly what your friends did. pasture raised is the best option and that $ value doesn't necessarily mean better. I stopped buying the cage free style and went back to regular store brand eggs.

I really appreciate this info on eggs! Who knew? I already use grass fed beef and Kerrygold butter and noticed the difference in taste immediately. Guess I'll buy the pasture raised eggs now, too.

Everything you said is true. Only one thing, the color of the egg only denotes the color of the chicken it came out of, so white eggs are still awesome when they come out of chickens that have access to nature.

If you have a Costco near you, they sell larger boxes of it and it is a better value (typically) than the grocery store.

Grassfed or pastured meat is VERY expensive. I would love to afford it. Occasionally splurge for some ground beef at $7 a pound or more, but a roast or other cut??? No way to pay that much. KerryGold is just one brand of pastured butter. Surprising that so many commenting sound like they know little about these foods.

Some do have limited access, but others are unlimited. It all depends on the Grower. We all need to do our own research of the supplier we buy from.

Thank you for the good information. I did not know about the alternative to "free-range" eggs, which I had read was not nearly as compassionate as it sounds. Actually, I had not heard of grass-fed butter until recent information about coffee with GFB and coconut oil.

Interesting timing of this video since my husband and I were talking about why some countries have longer life expectancy than the USA - maybe this is another reason. I guess I will be looking for the grass fed butter next time. We do know that grass fed beef tastes so much better than regular.

I sometimes donate to a Vietnam Veterans group, a local children's charity thrift store, and a hospice thrift store. There are many good ones in your own neighborhood, you just have to look around. Google "worst charities to donate to" on Google Image and you will see a chart that lists the most well-known ones. Also if you like to shop thrift stores there are many good ones as well, frequently associated with a church, hospital or animal welfare group.

Hi Lana, I am extremely proud of my longtime partnership with Goodwill. They are one of the highest ranked charitable organizations in the world. Unfortunately many rumors and lies have been spread about this organization. Here is a video I made debunking those internet rumors: kzitem.info/news/bejne/k36F3IuJsGaroXY. The chart you are referring to has been shown to be riddled with inaccuracies (for all of the charities mentioned, not just Goodwill).

Hi Polly- my intention here is to educate and help people understand the differences in the terms that are thrown around in the food industry. I know that people are going to make the best decision they can based on the factors in front of them. I want to make sure they know more about their choices. Thank you for watching and commenting, Polly.

Natural is healthier. No doubt and I would also recommend; however, let's separate the opinions from the facts so we have a clear understanding. Observation alone is not a fair comparison. One less knowledgeable might not know that the brown eggs are from different species of chickens which is why they differ in color, shape, and size. The white eggs are more common in but can also vary in size and shape according to the species. So what makes look industrial? A stamp? Are the brown not industrial because they lack a stamp? These more "natural" eggs are massively produced also in an industrial manner to keep up with the demand of us who like natural products (and make us feel good while we can't see what really goes into the process). As for the butter, again, you are drawing conclusions on two products from different manufacturers, not considering the exact ingredients and proportions of each of them. Any variation of these can change the color and texture of the final product. None of these comparisons are accurate, but people will walk away thinking that what you are saying is based 100 percent on fact when it is only opinion based on observation. It is simply not true until 100 percent proven.

Thank you for watching and giving the opportunity to explain. I stated in the beginning of the video that I am sharing the knowledge I learned from nutrition experts- Mira and Jason Calton. There is an exhaustive amount of science and research behind their books that I read from on the video. I did talk about visual cues, because people need to know what to look for and how to look for it, but I also refer to the science.
