Singaporeans by and large are not necessary materialistic. Agree with the young lady, Cheryl, it’s a matter of surviving to thrive. Singapore’s public housing is an excellent example of a egalitarian society amidst a capitalist economy. Hopefully the government understands this, and cap public housing prices back to what it was and who is it meant for the average Singaporean.

financial security can be so broad. I think as long as the guy knows how to feed himself and shares the load if they have a commitment. It depends on how u see financial security.

Personally, I feel women should be financially independent. Women may not need a career, but a job could be essential. Because they will be able to support financially should anything happens to the sole bread winner. Or even to support themselves financially and have the freedom to buy whatever they want.

Actually Malaysian Muslims can convert out. Is just gonna take 2 yrs for the woman to convert out and 2 months for the people who wants to convert in to Islam. There's a case where the muslim woman is marrying an Indian guy and she decided to switch. And her family was crazy... 😂😂

can't agree with Jade on the financial security because its end of the day a perspective. I purchased a resale of $410k with combined income of $5900 with my wife back in 2017. Today our income has tripled. Have faith that your income will grow eventually. There are people who are happy with $5,000 per month, and there are happy who sulks and complaint of "high cost living" with $20,000 per month because they are covered with branded materials. If you live within your means, then you'll always be contented and happy.
