This was a great interview because Rosie treated Aretha like someone she just wanted to have a conversation with. That's why Aretha was so comfortable. Normally when Aretha would go on shows to be interviewed the interviewer would right from the start begin asking heavy and deep questions like what soul meant to her or stuff about her family. Or if they didn't do that they would ask really stupid and inane questions. This was a nice change.

I enjoyed this interview. Aretha seems very relaxed and there is a general mutual warmth between them. One thing I immediately cringed at, however, was when Rosie asked if Aretha’s mother had taught her how to cook. I knew Aretha’s mother had died before Aretha was 10. Aretha was gracious and moved on without skipping a beat. Then Rosie mentioned her own mother dying when she was young. Did anyone else notice this?
