I have one of these. It was my dads first guitar back in 1983. That makes it 40 years old. It just hangs on the wall collecting dust and today I picked it up and plugged it in and I loved it. So cool

Me, too, Dave! Who's always movin' my stuff around? It's so funny: I know it's gotta be me, but I don't want to admit the old memory is...changing, yeah, that's the ticket, taking a radical leap in efficiency, not deteriorating...but then, hey, maybe somebody's gaslighting me. hahaha

The old Japanese stuff from the late 70s and early 80s is top quality. I'd love to have an old Tokai Gibson Les Paul copy, they made some of the most beautiful-looking vintage style Sunbursts. Because at the time, Gibson was not.

So true,Tokai,Greco and Burny.Great quality Japanese copies of Gibson and Fender. I would love to have a Burny LP.

True, except the electronics and pickups. Lots of brands made in batches from some good factories. Most of them were able to make absolute Killer guitars, if someone asked for it. Matsumoku & FujiGen (who made most Aria in Kooperation), Greco, Fernandes (incl. Burney) too. FujiGen Gakki was big long before the Ibanez Brand. Chushin Gakki (BC Rich/Jackson), Tokai with their own plant, Terada, ESP...

Only in a certain time frame, mostly those made in Japan. 70-80ies. The Aria Pro II's before their singer japan pulled them under and they moved production in 1988.

Ages ago I bought a pot of flux for soldering to aluminiuim. LA-CO brand. Now, they make fluxes of all sorts but I found that the Aluminium Flux lets me solder to Steel and Iron too. It's pretty nasty stuff, you have to be careful using it. Keep it from skin or eye contact etc. But it works a treat.
