If you studied drama and the voice and worked with the voice in a professional setting you will understand how easy it is to damage your vocal cords. Voice actors will change up their pitch and tone to keep their vocal cords warm and less prone to damage. For someone like ariana, whose life is her voice, and because singing in the high pitches she does, it'a normal for her to do this to communicate effectively without hurting her voice. And as the creator of this short said, voice actors will sound different depending on what work theyre doing at the time. Radio djs do this in breaks. They have the radio voice and in the ad breaks they relax and let it the voices rest so they sound different. It's part of taking care of your voice.😊

This has happened to me. You tend to change when the people around you change and you’re an empathetic person. My speech was very crisp in high school, became more southern in college, and now that I have a boyfriend and teach students who are black, I’m starting to pick up on their mannerisms and speech as well. It happens 🤷♀️ who cares? My clothing style has changed drastically from goth to punk to colorful flowery teacher. I used to want to be a song writer and was very artsy, now I teach science. We all grow and change.

Hi, I’m a singer-songwriter who has dealt on and off with the effects of vocal abuse, I had to rest my voice for a year because of nodules on my vocal cords and then had to do speech therapy where I was taught to speak in a higher register for vocal health. She’s a musical person, she probably picks up traces of accents depending on where she’s living, who she’s hanging out with, what projects she’s working on, media she’s watching, etc. It’s very common for musical people’s accents to adapt to what they’re exposed to over time. I have family members who are very musical and their accent changes depending on where they move or who they hang out with, and family members who are not so musically gifted whose accents never change lol. They’re just more attuned to those slight tonal differences.

People said the same sh!t about Austin Butler after the whole Elvis movie. They train for months to talk a certain way, even talk like that in their real life to keep it the same for the movie/roll/persona they're playing. Its really hard to just shut it off. And like she said in that one interview its to keep her voice healthy so she can sing live the way she does.

People who never had classical singing classes or real voice training for singing will never understand what its like to go into class speaking with a tone and leaving with another speaking tone due to higher voice placement. What Ariana does is smart, it really helps not to damage you chords due to forcing it to a tone that's not natural.

I can only say that my pitch changes depending on which mood I’m in, what topic I talk about, with whom I am with and which language I am speaking. It might come as a shock to some, but most people can have quite a range of pitches.

The internet is WILD. I got attacked severally for apparently not using my "real accent" yet older videos of me show me speaking the exact same way and I had to try and dumb it down so I can sound more "authentic" yet I've been exposed to multiple cultures and people will always try to limit you and place you in a box. It's much harder in a country where English isn't the first language so then it's safe to say everyone adopts it in different ways not necessarily "fake" cause it wasn't our language to begin with 😂

You didn’t show the blaccent that she was doing for most of her career and only stopped doing last year. This is an inaccurate and incomplete representation of how Ari’s voice has DRASTICALLY changed throughout her life.

when your music is hip hop influenced and you are around nicki minaj all the time, yes u are going to assimilate to that style... she is now doing glinda in wicked so it wouldnt make sense for her to still be accustomed to a different accent... isnt it crazy that when you do work in DIFFERENT GENRES OF SOUND that you will start to SOUND DIFFERENT? definitely eye opening when i realized that humans ARE in fact influenced by the things around them!!! who wouldve thought?!??!?!?!

The only thing I noticed is when she was making albums with Victoria Monet she did speak like her a little bit and that’s because I’m assuming that one their best friends and two they were working on an album together so she probably just picked up her way of speaking because she was always around. Depending on your group, it’s very likely that you start to develop their speaking. Mirroring means you’re close to that person. more likely because she was working on wicked and not really a lot of her music. She probably was not constantly being near Victoria so her voice just went back to normal.

YES EXACTLY.. people who are very involved with sound like ariana since she sings, produces, composes, and writes... being influenced by the genres around you is part of being an artist and the voice change thing has happened to gaga and beyonce as well... artists who are able to span multiple genres and EXCEL in them too!!! im not sure why people act like its insanity for someone whose life revolves around sound to be influenced and reflect different types of sounds depending on what they are immersed in... its literally common sense imo but clearly common sense isnt that common in this world
