It’s a shame that the fantastically hand made natural dyes and sheep wool rugs and carpets are being overrun by the full of chemicals’ machine made carpets and no body pays much attention. People must remember that laying down a machine made carpet on your floor is a recipe for disaster, that’s because the moment a machine made carpet with fully chemical materials is put down on the floor , not only adults are having daily contact with chemicals but also the most vulnerable members of the family who are little children , 24/7 they are walking on chemicals, sitting on chemicals, playing on chemicals and sometimes even sleeping on chemicals plus breathing the chemically manufactured carpets. It’s a pity that to date no health organisation, no media group and no home designer groups have raised their voices and concerns regarding the machine made chemical material carpets and rugs. For how much longer and for what purpose this silence will continue, only time can tell.

I have at least 2 dozen Afghan rugs myself. I have room for only 2 on the floor. Others I can use for cushions. Some have silk inlays. My cat has her own Afghan cushion made from a small bag. Easy to buy, plenty on the market if you have the right source.

9:22 beating the knots down to even out a poorly made rug. I've never seen that before. Good idea but laborious.
