@@rednexican78tv I honestly think it's simply tjst they're not overengineered. A lot of these "premium" and "exclusive" ebikes are thousands more for the same performance because they overcomplicate everything to drive the price up. Very similar to how BMW scalps their customers through crappy overengineered parts that can only be fixed by a BMW authorized mechanic.

I bought the bike rack from harbor freight, it is easy to adjust to my needs. I cut 7 in. Off each end of it and moved the center ribs to adjust for tires to sit. I cut 6 in. Off of the mounting tongue to bring it closer to the back of my SUV which gives it more stability. The last thing I did was cut the back where the ramp is to sit leaving enough for tie downs to hook. I have used this rack several times now and it works perfectly, not a scratch on my bike or my pilot and I store the ramp in the back of the SUV

Too bad I missed this when it first came out, now I have some catching up to do! AR performance is always good, and I love that oversized rack. For those fretting about the speeds, just leave it at the factory settings that limit throttle to 20mph. If you do unlock it at your own risk, then be responsible. By the way "voltage sag" is the drop of voltage levels when a battery is under load, and that voltage level recovers when the load is removed. What we are seeing here on this bike is display latency caused by the bike electronics trying to "average out" the percentage. If you are concerned about percentage and voltage in real time, then get a programmable battery voltage meter and mount it to the bike. I've got one and you can see the correct "at rest" percentage the moment you let go of the throttle. And as a side note; that loose spoke was an assembly defect. Being loose like that is an issue, but so is over tightening. It's best to follow manufacturer guidelines and use a spoke tension gauge, or get the spokes adjusted at a shop that understands e-bikes. I have a RadMini with more power than this, and I've only had to re-tension the spokes four times in 7000 miles. Randy, thanks for the review, and I agree the Kepler is a great value with excellent performance. Now to check out your other videos!

no one shows a shorter person getting on and off the Kepler. They just show them standing supported by a sidewalk, or riding around. What us short girls need to see is the actual getting on and off of the bike, as well as stopping without falling! My husband and I are awaiting the arrival of our bikes, so I just hope I can pull this off - meaning enough leg strength for this heavy bike when stopping, and getting on and off the bike safely. It's a big investment.

My boy Rusty Roads filmed his lady getting on the step-thru: www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRfELXyg/ Watch until the end. The Kepler is a big bike. If you road a bike a lot as a kid, I don’t think you’ll have an issue. It is pretty heavy. It is even big for me, but if you are flexible enough, I think you’ll be fine. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll forget all about the height issue.

A better way t check spokes is to pluck them like a harp and listen to the sound. You will be all to tell when they are loose. Also don't use your fingers to check for fasteners tightness. Use the proper wrench. Also the preload adjustment does not control the rebound on the fork, it allows adjustment for how strong the fork is when being compressed.

Hi Randy, Congrats on being the Aerial Ambassador! I was wondering, since I'm one of those who has range anxiety (looking to do at least 70-80 miles a day), if I were to get the Kepler, what type of battery would you suggest as the second one? What size would you recommend, the triangle one (not sure where this would fit if getting the step or not), the same size as the default, or the box? I'd probably get at least a 20amp 52v battery. I'd hate to use the rack as a battery carrier because I need the rack. Also, would you suggest connecting to the controller or just carrying one as a spare to replace default once it's depleted?

Question about the PAS. It comes with 5 but can be changed unto 9. My concern is that PAS 1 takes you to about 15 mph and is hard to control lower than that. However if I change the PAS level to 9 will that limit the mph on PAS1. If I am riding on a trail or sidewalk where it is congested I may only want to be steady at 5 mph. Seems having more PAS levels willl give you more diverse ranges that can be useful in congested areas. What say you?

What tire pressure is recommended for front and back tiers for city streets and sidewalks? Would getting new headlight and rear light be a good thing? since the base ones look a little weak.
@RandyRides
2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tested range yet, but I would expect at least 30 miles. If you do my battery mod, twice that amount. 5’6” should be good for the step-thru. I’m 6’2” and I find that I really like the step-thru better on this bike. I usually run 20-25 psi for a more comfortable ride but manufacturer recommendation is 30. I’d definitely get an upgraded headlight. I use the Cygolight Metro Pro and Shredlights. I do also run a flashing rear light for extra visibility. I have a guardian angel light attached to my rear bag. Brightest flashing light you’ll find.

Unfortunately, a lot of it has to do with getting replacement parts. Also unfortunately, most ebike companies are in the same boat. It’s just most people are impatient and can’t wait a week or two for a part. You’ll get the same experience at most places, even LBS, but there’s a benefit having someone right then and there that can help you. If you have the means to do that, have at it. I prefer performance vs. cost, and the Kepler is elite in most specs. I understand people want their parts/service right away, but Ariel Rider is not Amazon. Amazon has spoiled most Americans. The logistics just needs improving, and they have some good people on staff that are working to improve that. I have had great customer service with them. Now, I’m biased, so you really can’t go off what I say from that standpoint. Basically it boils down to this. They are still a relatively new company that is growing fairly quickly (if you can’t tell). People just don’t give them credit. I do. So, it is what it is. I’ve been 100% completely happy with both of my AR’s, but I also know how to fix and maintain them, which is a plus. Let me know what kind of bike you go with. Nice bike I'm thinking about getting one just hate that they're on backorder tho..the only thing I don't like it quick release on the front wheel,with this kind of speed and torque I'll be nervous going that fast with a quick release front wheel..other than that the bike is almost perfect..
@RandyRides
2 жыл бұрын
The quick release works fine. Very secure. There’s a guy in the Facebook group who has put several hundred miles on his, has checked that repeatedly, and has never had an issue with it becoming loose. As far as backorders go, it’s basically the same as a preorder. Many ebike companies do this, due to the demand. They get hundreds of bikes imported from overseas. There have been zero reports of anyone not getting their bike.

@@RandyRides great I did lots of research and this bike here is a beast..and the best thing of all you getting a great bike with specs the competition can't match at a great and affordable price too.. Ariel Rider did a fantastic job with this bike this is going to be my next ebike 😃

Not to worry, the only thing about the quick release is that it becomes easy to steal. But there are remedies for that as well

I ordered one and still waiting but I have watch every YT video I could find with a few people saying the high bar looks better but with the rack and some bags or case as Randy has they said it's easier to mount with the low bar plus I was told by customer service that in October the low bar models would ship a week sooner so I ordered the one Randy has to get it a week sooner than a high bar. I saw on another video a guy ordered the grey low only after his dealer told him those pink stripes come right off with a blow dryer then he put on his own red stripes after in red, that made it not look like a girls bike. Plus I was saving up for mine then when ordering the Affirm ad popped up & with a debit card and a job I ordered mine no money down, the total after the bike, shipping insurance, tax, front basket, air pump etc. came to $2150 with 6 payments of $340ish no interest or 12 payments of $202 paying $240 extra there for interest or longer, I wish I knew that in the beginning I have mine now instead of saving up for 3 months but Ive been hitting up extras on Amazon I wanted like a cloud 9 seat, mirrors etc.

The Wicked Freedom wasn’t released yet, when the Kepler was reviewed. 🤷🏼♂️ I would hardly call it a better bike. Just because it's a 60V ebike, doesn't mean it competes with the Kepler, in my eyes. The Kepler has the same top speed and more torque and it actually looks good. The Freedom is kinda boring.

I'm leaning towards the aventon. As a heavier guy first things to go are the seat and pedals. The brakes and gears will need constant adjusting if not worse. Aventon has better quality all around. 400lbs rated vs 300 lbs. The twist throttle will be hard to convince a cop is legal, plus more accident prone. To each his own but in my state with my luck i would have to get the kepler registered and I'm still buying an ebike for exercise. Lol. My concern though is going up hills and I'm still wondering if an ebike would even help me wish I could try one before buying.

I just received my Kepler yesterday. It looked awesome. I put it together and was even more impressed. When I attempted to take it for my first test ride, I powered it up and the Ariel logo came up and then I got an error code 08 and it shut down! I checked in the manual and there were some error codes but not one for 08. I sent an email after hours to Ariel but they have not responded as yet. Do you have some kind of solution that I might be able to try? I disconnected all of the wire connections and reconnected them but I got the same 08 code. What to do??? BTW I really liked your videos, which convinced me to go ahead and take the plunge, but as yet have not been able to ride.

Sorry for the late reply. I would try disconnecting the motor cable, the two cables on the screen, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then plug the motor cable in, and the other two. If that doesn't work, check your cables for bent pins.
