That happened to me when I turned 32... it gets easier! I promise, you can find a lot of good ideas on pinterest too... but i have a playlist of food things to try that I save his recipes in. In the beginning it's a lot of legal reading, but eventually you find a bunch of things you can have. Here's a few things I learned the hard way: 1. Watch out for the words 'natural flavor'... if they don't have an allergen list that says no dairy, they hide milk products there (I found out using my spices... Penzey's is a great place to find good spices with no milk added) 2. Also watch out for medicine, i found out the hard way that zyrtec uses a milk sugar as a carrier molecule... it's not even on the label, it's an inactive ingredient that's only listed on their website.

Loving every second of this content. Trying to enjoy this set of good old days before it’s gone, too. It funny actually, Julien (and Jenna, but let’s respect her privacy y’all) came into my life at the beginning of one of those “stages”, and right as that stage is coming to an end so has Jenna’s internet time and the podcast. Spent a few days moping a bit but I’m better now, and I’m ultimately just glad I got 2 years of getting to watch you guys and over 6 years of weekly content and podcasts. like Jenna said, all good things come to an end and I’m glad I was here to see it and experience it and even though I can’t currently afford a sub on Twitch, I will definitely be watching you for as long as your time here extends. *Trigger warning for this letter I talk ab self harm and suicide and abuse quite a bit, pls be kind to yourself y’all* I know you’re probably SO tired of seeing long ass essays like this in your comments and all over discord, but i feel like today I’m hitting the “acceptance” stage of grief for the pre-corona dinkfam and finally feeling ok despite everything (yes I’m aware how absolutely sad it is that my emotions can be affected harshly by a podcast or a youtuber). I just really wanted to write this to get it all off of my chest. I know it’s a douche move to say “I’m so sad it’s over idk how I’m gonna live anymore” or anything along those lines, bc JnJ are NOT responsible for our mental health, so I’ll preface this last part with a cute lil “I’m okay now and I’ll be alright, and it’s only bc of JnJ that this is true.” Two years ago this may have been devastating but I’m lucky enough that I’m no longer in a situation where JnJ are my only escape. Things got better for me *and if you’re reading this they will also get better for you, promise.* Julien, you literally saved my life and I am in no way exaggerating. To make a very long story short, my mother married a drunken homophobe and I’m very much not straight, and at a time where I didn’t feel welcome, comfortable, or safe in my own home, I could turn the JnJ podcast on and just forget. Could watch Jenna Try to perm her eyelashes or give you a haircut. if I wanted to hurt myself, I’d watch y’all and try my best to forget. When I heard yelling, I’d turn the podcast up in my earbuds and go to sleep. I realize this is dramatic and I know not everyone used it like I did but I just don’t think I can live without being completely honest about this. I used you guys to literally keep me alive when I had 0 other reasons to stay. I had Monday/Wednesday to keep breathing for. Anytime I had thoughts about taking my own life, I counted the days until the next upload and promised myself I’d see it. In the 9 months that my mother stayed with that man, I nearly ended my story too soon 5 times. all 5, I either stopped myself beforehand with podcasts and y’all’s content, or convinced myself not to make it final while I was hurting myself. This sounds hella dramatic, but for almost a year Jenna and Julien meant more to me than any other people on this planet, because they were the only reason I was still walking on it. I will, for the rest of my life, carry memories of being inches from the edge of everything and having only “dink dink” to talk me down. I found a community I could rant to without fear of judgement. I found people I now consider friends and no other community online has done that for me. Around a year ago I made a difficult decision to move from my moms house due to the situation we were in. This upset her as she was still trying to “make her marriage work” and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It felt like abandoning her when she needed me most. Luckily, she eventually managed to get away from him after nearly two years and I’m now living my best life applying to colleges and worrying about my ACT score instead of looking for reasons to stay alive. Julien, you’ve done more for me than you’ll ever know. I don’t even think you know I exist, which is fine, but I hope somehow you read all of this and I hope it made you feel something. Because you literally saved a life. Multiple times. And you didn’t even know it. That’s how amazing you and Jenna are, and I’m sure I’m not the only dink who’s had this kind of story. I don’t honestly know how to end this. Just, thank you. I can never express over a KZitem comment how much you and Jenna mean to me. I guess you’d also like to know that my first tattoo will most definitely be something of the Jenna-Julien variety because I never wanna forget what y’all did for me. Idk what yet, but I’m definitely getting one. So that’s cool. Anyways, sorry for the literal letter, and thank you for everything. I hope you have years and years of content and good times ahead and I’ll be lurking in chat until I can get a sub :)

Julen! For my pepper grinder I make sure I dont overfill it with peppercorns, they should be loosely packed and I invert the pepper mill before use to “fluff” the peppercorns. I also make sure the knob on top isn’t too tight otherwise it starts making those squeaky sounds. You can also use wood oil in between the body and the lid if it’s a new pepper mill. I like to watch the grinder at the bottom while I tighten the knob at the top so I can control the grind size by how tight/loose it is screwed. That’s on working in all kinds of restaurants for 15 years!

What’s weird is, I’m not sure what noise everyone talked about. I never heard anything when you were using the electric stove. Maybe because I already have ringing in the ears, lol 😂 😆 😂

Bruschetta is actually just bread rubbed with garlic and olive oil on top (often also has tomato or other stuff, but it's not necessary) :) Also we do have something similar to bear-mosa here in Germany, but it's some lemonsoda (or even a sort of soda (like sprite, fanta or cola)) with bear.. It's really refreshing :)
