Born into the culture, taken away and raised in another culture. Your song has brought out such strong feeling about Samoa. What I was taught the first 8 years of my life is stronger than the 42 years I have lived away from the culture. Visiting samoa after all these years has filled a place in my heart that could not be filled. The song completes my journey...Thank you for reminding me who I am...Thank you for taking me back HOME.

In 2009 Samoa was hit with a devastating tsunami. Around this time David Tua fought in NZ and this was his entrance song as a dedication to the ones we lost in Samoa. We wept when we heard the song esp the Samoan lyrics. Here is a rough translation of it: Samoa my beloved country I won't forget you during your time of need Stay strong in your spirit Keep building your canoe/striving for that dream Be strong. Keep the memory of our past (our ways/ our customs) Be respectful of our elders You're founded in God Don't ever take a step back My heart, Samoa e Young people return/(remember our ways) Rise up! To your full strength! Never be afraid of death! God will protect you! Jesus, He is the Shepherd! So be strong!

My first time to really hear the lyrics and the meaning of this song was June 1st, 2023. It just hit me deep and I could not stop the tears and Im like heart broken for the warriors, our ancestors who faught for our freedom to be independence back in the days of war. We were not here yet but, out history lives on and this song really hit me in core. As I think of our LORD JESUS GIVEN HIS LIFE FOR US ALL. FOR A SECOND CHANCE IN LIFE EVERLASTING. SO WE CAN LIVE FOR HIM.These men back then gave their lives so we can have a second chance. To be independence. May they RIP. THE MAU WARRIORS. GOD BLESS OUR PEOPLE. ❤❤❤😊

Talofa Manilz, This song is very propounding impact in my deaf community as well. Youth is not carrying the torch of very strong Deaf culture now. We are fighting to bring this back into the youth to keep carrying the torch of true "Deaf way & life"... With that being said, I hope with your blessing that I can use your video that has the best sounding music. I am deaf but I am able to follow/lipread your lips/voice and the beat is easy for me to timing. I got the English translation of this Samoa verses from my mother and another sister. In my heart, I am a teine Samoa. I just lost my only Samoan sister in the aiga to breast cancer three weeks ago. She had 6 children and 6 grandchildren. I just learned that this song was her favorite a few days ago. She fought with this cancer for 3 yrs. I am determined to pass this down to my nieces and nephews and their own kids with this song. I wanna bless my nieces and nephews with this song with captioned in English and using the American Sign Language of me at the same time with your music in the background. I will wait for you to permission or not. (Yes, I will buy the track to support aiga le Samoa e! ) Loto`fa`afetai lava in advance. Diana

I am American Black Samoan! And because I don't really look Samoan people tend to judge my looks. There is this myth that all samons are over 6ft tall with curly hair and slanted eyes. I am here to tell you we come in all different shapes, sizes, and color but please don't get it twisted I am Samoan until the day I die! Toloa!

Very unique song, this song always remind me of the late Head of State, Malietoa. God rest his soul. From the tough battle to the day that Samoa became independent.

see how people can be so judgemental, Im cookislander an iLOVE THIS SONG. it reminds me of the scars in our history, that make us pacific islanders who we are now.use are missing the point of this song. This a beautiful song with a very deep meaning to it. Since when does this song have to be about the looks of the singer. Wish people didnt judge the beauty of the person, but of the real meaning to this song. Mad respect for the samoans out there♥

Be a good song for Alex Leapai to walk out too when he fights for the boxing heavyweight championship! Nice calm song yet if you're samoan you would understand what the lyrics are actually saying! Faaaloalo: respecting our elders probably the cornerstone of our samoan culture. Yet we are humble but if we are to be messed with that's when we turn into WARRIORS! magaia le pese.
