Ian a native of Tucson and still love the sound of the birds. Right now waiting for monsoon rains due sometime this month. There’s nothing that compares to the smell of wet creosote❤

I moved to Arizona from N.C. about 2 years ago. Everything in the desert is so fascinating to me - the animals, plants, history, sky. It is truly beautiful. I go hiking as often as possible to commune with this beautiful land and all the gifts it offers.

there is a whole lot more to show than this. Looks like the photographer stood in one spot and looked left and right and that's it. As for the heat, I have a harder time in the Southeast than here, where the air is dry. See the desert in bloom is a miracle. No saguaro blooms ? or fruit ? Saguaro in the snow ?

We live in the Sonoran Desert and hike in the East District of Saguaro National Park many times a month. We love the desert and the park. This program is not a great representation of the desert with the extremely slow pacing and shots that are held much too long. It also is inaccurate because from Wasson Peak, Tucson is to the east. There is a great deal of wildlife they could have shown other than the deer which they found. We could have seen javelina, coyotes, jack rabbits, several types of hawks and owls and many lizards including the Gila Monster. The program had a good idea and some beautiful scenic shots but left out much of even the basic information about the desert.

It's so annoying how they always call it "harsh, inhospitable, barren" etc. If you live in it it's jam packed full of fat healthy wildlife. I live on the Hia-C'ed side.

It's only harsh during the heat of the day. Otherwise it's mostly beautiful. The desert has a lot going for it. Notwithstanding the drought we're having right now,

A flaw at 3:50: "... but for nocturnal creatures day's end is marked with a falling moon" -- No, the Moon doesn't always set at dawn! New moon, for example, sets with the Sun. Thanks for sharing this beautiful program, however :)

They took artistic liberties with this series, and there are numerous inaccuracies. Of those that I have seen, this one could have been so much better! For anyone that has done a lot of hiking in the springtime Sonoran Desert, I'm sure they know that this video doesn't do justice to the desert's loveliness.

True !! Several inaccuracies and seems like a very amateurish video .. can hear the wind hitting the mic so much and there are excessively long still shots and awkward pauses between narration and differing scenes. It’s like dudes bout to fall asleep or can’t seem to just fluidly narrate with more interesting commentary .. there’s much more that could be said, shown and discussed . Seems like someone made a home video , basically.

Unlike flowers, the cactus requires no TLC or constant attention. In fact, the Creator designed it so that if you get too close the result is pain. A prick like pain. The cactus is very self contained. A great metaphor for business. If you plan to go to the highest levels, you must develop the ability to long stretches without anyone liking you.
@breAnnasmama

James Pharris “the ability to long stretches without anyone liking you ? “ I think You’ve left out a word or few , as something Is missing in that last sentence.. you’re right about God creating it with purpose and intention within its design ! God is amazing and his creation/ the work of his hands, the most beautiful in ways that words can’t describe.

Cacti don’t look like humans ... that was a bit reaching to say lol. This isn’t even a 30 min. Video , yet it’s telling us to spend the next 30 min watching it .. then it takes forever to even begin ... omg let’s get thru the commercials and intro .. there’s what ? 20 min after that left to watch ? Maybe ? You can have remotely decent content but ruin it by setting up such a long introduction and being so dramatic about it 😂. I happen to love observing nature in the desert environment! Just wish it didn’t take so long to get started. What’s with the still shots that are taking so incredibly long to go from one thing to the next ? Between dude talking slowly and pausing and these shots of one image lasting 20 seconds , im bout to lose interest .. there needs to be a balanced way about connecting the content to the dialogue .. there are some beautiful visuals here to enjoy and I’m appreciative of that.. this seems Like an amateur video, however. It needs more movement with varying camera angles that are fluid .. otherwise, it would have much more appeal. The content ends technically , at about 25-26 minutes.. if you remove the lengthy intro & commercial placement , it’s likely 20 min long. He comes off like he’s just recording little vids with an iPhone rather than a proper camera and the wind can be heard pretty badly , as the recording goes along.
