Just a personal preference type of thing... When doing a greenhouse, I prefer having an overhead hanging grid of pipes and taps. It has a more realistic look. However, I like the technique of hiding the pipes, so that I can then hide the incoming pipes and running it from floor, up the wall, then across the ceiling. Great tips!

This could almost double as the 'platform saddle build Tips & Tricks' video. Can electrical cabling also use the free-placement-level method from stairs that was used for water pipes? The offset snap points from pillars on foundations are super useful for vanilla platform saddle bases. Hanging ceilings like to snap 1 'level' higher than lowered foundations (see Ark: Building Trips & Tricks video 1) and this can correct that error. Platform saddles cannot have pipes installed so large crop plots tricks are a must for mobile bases that don't want to waste time on filling water containers and using them from the plot's inventory. Now if we just had a method of making the ladder trick useful on platform saddles to line things up correctly.

5:12 I have an interesting technique for this I just recently got into building, but I've been playing the game for about two years now. I used to get so frustrated about this that I wouldnt even use hatch frames lol. However about a year ago I realized that wood hatch frames have multiple snap points, so I would place the ladder where I wanted it with a wooden one, and then I would replace it with either tek or metal later on. On my unofficial cluster, I realized that after doing this, even if you destroy the tek/metal frame later on, the ladder would just float in the air where it was. I probably could've explained that without writing a paragraph lol

I am not sure if it’s a new exploit or not, but you can stack medium plots, too. You just have to go into third person, stand at the end of the range to place the plot and then do so, but don’t move an inch. If you don’t move, you can keep stacking them. It’s a glitch in the game, as long as you’re far away and don’t move - it won’t register that you’ve already placed the first one. Useful if you want to make a hidden farm and don’t *need* the large plots for whatever crops you’re planting there.

Greetings & Blessings † † † First of all, thank you for all the hard work & time you put into these videos just to help other builders!!! Personally, I believe you & The Pilgrimz Project have the most informative & easiest to follow instruction videos available. As one of the simple folks, I thank you for that!!! I've only been playing Ark for around a year, so I'm sure I have loads to learn. My thing is Colossal Builds, I love building extremely HUGE complex builds, as I have several across the different maps of Ark. There is one issue I've encountered from time to time which is "too many structures in area" (VERY annoying) unfortunately this normally leads me to abandon the build (also VERY annoying). My question is this, is there a way around this "too many structures in area" restriction? When I say "Colossal" I'm talking builds large enough to contain several Brontos, my latest is a 20x20 multilevel barn. (it's about 6 foundations short of fully enclosing a Bronto) One of my barns has Behemoth gates on 2 levels, the upper one is for my Tek Quetzal & Argies. I tend to get carried away with detail as far as believable support for upper levels and or out-croppings from the building. The stacking of reservoirs is genius & PERFECT for some of my builds. Again thank you for all your efforts!!!

@Nighthunter6666
3 жыл бұрын
@@istaytired5421 Well if you want it... place down a stone foundation, then lower a wooden foundation right next to it. Put a large crop plot on the wooden foundation and snap a greenhouse ceiling to the stone foundation. The dirt parts from the crop plot will stick through the glass, which allows you to access the crop plot just fine. Then just select a crop you want to grow and fill up the crop plot. Basic ones will look small, but larger crops and even plant species look really good. From a certain distance it will look like you flooded the field. The sound is still as if you were walking on glass tho. =( That one is ideal for bases on lakes or in swamp. Just build around it, put down some fences, etc. Alternatively you can use adobe ceiling for a more desert look. Those ones will cover the crop plot entirely, but you can still access their inventory and the plant wil look like it grew in the sand. :) You can experiment with different foundations and look how they work out. In the end, you'll have a garden that looks good and yield crops (albeit without greenhouse effect). But you can build a greenhouse above it and get the effect too.

Regarding the water taps at 17:00, I always thought that the taps had to be level with, or above the plots in order to properly irrigate. I know there is a 1-2 tile range on them in every direction (with the exception of above, or so I thought). This video has been very educational. I was unaware of a few of these tricks and building is half the fun for me.:)
