You may not need to replace you grass front door. Some triple laminated glass is exceedingly difficult to get through, even with a fireman’s ax. @@TheUrbanPrepper Not that i'm particularly biased, but perhaps a 'Dutch door' will be a nice in the middle option? ... They generally look nice (imo) with the middle feature, while they are also solid. Yet they give some extra protection to those inside by having the top and bottom hinge separately (which also means more hinges and thus harder to kick in (esp. if hinges use long screws)), meaning you can keep the bottom part locked while still opening the top to receive packages and what not... Another option could be to find a local blacksmith and have them make custom metal decorative bars (or some bar like structure) to mount over the glass portion. I have seen this in the past and a good blacksmith should be able to make a really cool metal guard to make sure nobody get make it through the door even after breaking the glass (and yes those would be like 'prison bars', but as said: a good blacksmith can make them pretty darn good looking ornamental prison bars).

@trollking99

@@ThinkDragonX41T It's because in North America modern houses and apartments are generally mean to be built fast. A whole street of houses can be built in less than a year: from clearing the land to tenants moving in. Unless it's a custom-made, one-off, houses are built in bulk by developers using the cheapest, quickest methods. Similar with apartment buildings, they are built just as quickly. This doesn't mean they are bad quality - they could be built with better designs and better quality, but this would eat into the profits of the developer. As well, in North America older homes are more sturdy than modern homes.

Where I live we have pry shields installed on the inside of the door and doorframe. But I suppose that would make it impossible to also install the other armor in the vid. This requires some Googling for me, what if my door security is not at full potential yet? 😱😁
