The air conditioner comment is because at the time early air conditioners were being made and Lovecraft, the ever skeptical and fearful, made a story about how a doctor uses a “strange and indescribable” source to keep his house extremely cold, and when it turns off he turns to sludge due to his dealings in evil practices. The expenses of the British crown are completely paid for by the Crown estate. Way back in the 1760s the British monarch agreed to hand over all revenue from the crown estate over to the house of Commons, and in return the government would pay back a certain portion. It was recently replaced with a single annual grant that is fixed at 15% of the crown estate's income. Essentially, the British monarch pays for itself and contributes effectively 85% of it's income in tax.

Was expecting either AC0, Project Wingman, or one of the MGS games. Bloodborne wasn't even on the list-YAKUZA was on the list (Halftime entertainment). This is going to be very...insightful. 0:08 Max0r (and SethTzneetch) tend to have that effect of "I HAVE to see what else they create" due to their style of comedy. 4:40 Adding on to this, those paintings of them? They're the *flattering* ones. 4:58 Doesn't stop him from kicking your ass three ways to Scotland during his boss battle. 6:44 The game itself gets pretty anime from time to time, almost always during a boss battle (Lady Maria, Ludwig, Gehrman), so Max0r isn't entirely at fault. 13:43 Considering it's based off of Hippopotamus Lovecraft's work, that's a good thing. 15:26 Given the last few years, both in the US and abroad, that is a legitimately scary question. 16:28 Yeah, it is grim. However, based off of evidence in game, Mergo (the baby in question) is implied to be a miscarried spawn of the union of a Great One and an ancient Human Queen, and her blood was utilized by both the rowdy college students *and* the healing church, whose upper echelon knew about the blood's effects, but kept it secret. It doesn't answer exactly why the Moon Prescence wants Mergo dead, but given how Eldritch Abominations are incomprehensible, I suspect that might've been on purpose. 17:52 Vampire Cosplayer enters a dream world expecting Gothic Horror, only to stumble onto a Cosmic Horror story (while Bloodborne's Lovecraft influences are well known now, at the time, it was a hell of a twist given that it was only marketed as Gothic Horror based). 18:44 Max0r is a *BIG* time Vtuber simp. Heck, I'm surprised you reviewed another Max0r vid given your apprehension to the genre during the AC7 review. 21:36 You'll probably love FROM Software games then... 25:30 You should see Seth... 27:14 Speaking of that, canonically, Iosefka's Imposter (the real Iosefka was turned into one of the experiments you find in the clinic) was trying to artificially create Celestial Emissaries by herself...no, I don't know how or even if it worked. 28:48 H.P Lovecraft tended to write about what he was afraid of most...usually, this meant anybody that wasn't someone of "Good Racial Standing" (i.e: Western Europe), but when he lived with his wife in New York, he was around just as the first air conditioners were being used for apartments...and wrote a story about an undead doctor who uses said technology to stave off death and decay until it breaks one warm October Afternoon. Yes, really. 29:33 That...actually sounds like a plausible idea. Would explain why Trump only got kicked off of Twitter following the attempted insurrection in America. 32:55 Considering how hard the SoulsBorne series is, completing one of these games is definitely an achievement on its own. 33:37 The Lore for Laurence is that he was part of the Healing Church and attempted to destroy the infection by burning all of Old Yarhnem down, hence his hellish appearance. Confusingly, one of the bosses (Bloodletter Beast I think it is) is considered Laurence in the real world, having transformed into a Beast at some point. 36:14 Welcome to SoulsBorne-balance considerations can be discussed with our resident Giantdad Contractors. 36:28 It is definitely an interesting story, I'll give it that. The Central Premise behind the Shy Guy is that, if his face is seen by anyone, he will whine in pain for a few moments before turning into a homing killing machine that takes incredible punishment and won't stop until he catches up to the face-seer...at which point the details of how the slaughter commences is REDACTED. 37:35 Translation: He beat a From Soft game that's reliant on dodges and parrying for combat...while playing with screwed up controls. 38:25 Yes, it is actually named the cumpfffkth dungeon. It works by exploiting dungeon mechanics (stacking echo gains by lowering your health) and putting a boss that happens to be in the path of a pendulum trap. The hitbox is there, but the model isn't, so it just sits there as it gets cut to ribbons. 39:45 Trust me, that isn't the strangest waifu in the From Soft catalogue.

37:35 Sekiro is a game in the same vein as Bloodborne and Dark Souls/Demons Souls; hard for the sake of being hard. And Max0r made a video where he played through Sekiro on a keyboard, rather than a controller, and customized the keybindings to be backwards. WASD for movement became W to move backwards, S to move forwards, etc. And instead of using LShift to crouch, and Spacebar to jump, Space became crouch and LShift became jump. Apply the concept to every keybind for the game, that’s what he did. And he also had a metric assload of meme mods applied to the game at the same time. For example, there’s a gigantic snake boss-enemy, and he had a mod that made the snake look like Thomas the Train, complete with train whistle noises instead of snake hissing and screeching/roaring.

If you have questions about why the royal family still exists, there is a really good (but old) video by CGP Grey about it. If you don't want to look it up here is the short answer: the UK makes more money from the royal family existing than have to pay them. 2 main reasons 1. Existing royal family is a tourist attraction, 2. The royal family and parliament have a deal where all the profits earned by land belonging to the crown goes to them instead (notice how that money belongs to the royal family). If the royal family were to be turned into simply the family then that deal would be void and those profits would go back to the family which is a metric fuckton more money then the uk pays the royal family per year for existing. Not to mention that all those jewels and art pieces in the royal collection also belong to the crown so no more tourism money for that. So no, the royal family isn't really a drain on the UK economy. Quite the opposite in fact. (There is also the fact that the Monarch of England also functions as the religious head of the anglican Church)
@big_tymerro

It took me 10 seconds to check this, they cost more money than they make from tourism
@thewingedserpent5823
2 жыл бұрын
@@big_tymerro ah OK, maybe you can't read. As I said, the royal family has an agreement with parliament that all revenue made from the crown estate goes to the treasury. Now I made a mistake since that was only the case until 2012. Right now the royal family takes 25% of the revenue with the rest still going to the treasury which is, again, more than the royal family gets from the government. Not to mention that the royal family itself pays taxes. Fact of the matter is that all the crowns property that is now used by the UK government for museums and the like would go back to the royal family as it is their property. Also, the estimated amount of money the uk makes from tourism directly coming from the royal family (as in visits to Buckingham palace and the like) is 550 million£. This figure is probably exaggerated but even if we are more realistic and cut that in half then the 225 million is still a lot more than the 85 million grant the royal family got in 2018-19. Not to mention the fact that the royal family can't actually use all that money the way they want and a large part of it goes into maintenance of the properties. So there you have it, it took you 10 seconds to come up with a wrong answer. F-

speaking of that "devil" hysteria in 80s-90s - it must have been some reeeeeally serious thing back then one of the most famous parts of history of Dungeons&Dragons (most popular tabletop rpg), is that it had entire pantheon of devils and demons - and developers were forced to change names of the creatures because of that (this is how terms " Baatezu" and "Tanarri" appeared). They also had to remove orcs as a playable race back then, because orcs resembled devils (?) and were generally evil, so parents didn't want to allow their kids to play them

@@naybor_jane9386 Naw, that's not true at all. There's a difference in law between something that _is_ a chemical weapon (eg sarin, VX, mustard gas) and something that _can be used_ as a chemical weapon, which includes almost all chemicals in existence. For example, if I dumped thousands of gallons of gasoline into a lake with the intention of poisoning a village's water supply, I am using gasoline as a chemical weapon. As applied to WP, the only way to use it as a chemical weapon would be to make people eat it or use the vapour with the direct intent of poisoning people, which doesn't work in open air (phosphorous pentoxide is only about as toxic as fuel vapour). Using it as an incendiary isn't illegal because the primary mechanism of wounding is thermal effects rather than toxic ones. Agent Orange was a chemical defoliant which turned out to have serious effects on humans due to its dioxin content: at the time, it was used in civilian industry and the US genuinely had no idea it was going to do what it did. The US argued that it wasn't a chemical weapon because it wasn't a _weapon_ , since it wasn't being used to target people. The UN agreed, but after animal testing confirmed serious side-effects its use in Vietnam was suspended in 1970. It's rather similar to asbestos. @LuL Kappa Depleted uranium isn't prohibited by any law. The UN has noted it does not meet any definition of a prohibited weapon, since DU munitions are not designed primarily to kill through the toxic effects of secondary dust production. Again, it's all about the primary mechanism of wounding as to whether a weapon is banned or not.

It is a sad state of affairs that there are many chiropractors that are into metaphysics mumbo jumbo or just sell bunk. However, the real ones properly understand the kinematics of the human body and how all the parts fit together. It's a matter of fact that we simply do not take care of our bodies. Muscles freeze and adhere to each, other nerves are pinched, muscles and bones are pulled out of place, and you aren't going to be able to fix yourself. If you take these problems to your GP they'll be like, "don't move like that", "you have early onset arthritis", "try these steroids". A chiropractor is going to be like, let's make sure all the muscles are moving as intended and all the nerve pathways are free and clear. With a chiropractor identifying things you need to stop doing, and giving you exercises to strengthen weakened muscle groups, you can avoid a lot of pain killers.

It's very skill/reaction/decision based with any corner can hold a new surprise to the experience. It's very centered around letting the player play how they want, but first you haveto see a few things to know how you should be doing. Fromsoft has a philosophy that dying is part of the game. And so unlike a simple punishment of doing everything over again, you can permanently kill bosses/minibosses, recover lost currency where you died last, and unlock shortcuts and brilliant connection areas and sorta see where most places are if you're actually paying attention.

If you wanted to get a feel for Bloodborne, a modder recently released Bloodborne PSX, a PS1-style demake of the opening areas of Bloodborne. It really reminds me of Nightmare Creatures 2, and it's pretty solid overall.

I love explaining actions in online FPS multiplayers that are against the Geneva convention. Like you are not allowed to shoot at soldiers using parachutes and those soldiers are not allowed to fire back while using a parachute. The old laws that aren’t reinforced I like to talk about in WW1 and WW2 video games.
@CruelestChris

No, you are allowed to shoot at soldiers using parachutes, you're only not allowed to shoot at _airmen_ using parachutes. If you shoot down a transport full of paratroops you can light up the guys in the back all you like, but it's a war crime if you shoot at anyone who was driving. It's a _weird_ law.

Royal families are culturally important, and since they attract tourism unlike presidents I don't think they're actually as expensive as people make them out to be. The US is basically the only country that hasn't turned into a cultural hellhole after getting rid of their monarchy and thats because they never had it. All these european countries who got rid of their royal families are now some of the least free places in the west. France has never not had a rioting uprising since the 1700s for example.

if you didn't know, Bloodborne was made by From Software, who are the devs for Dark Souls, which I think you have heard of. As far as scp 096, yeah, but mainly the details of that is the Foundation itself. 096| SCP Short Film, by MrKlay. That's the one specific to it. To break it down, tall thin humanoid that usually sits in a corner and cries. but if anyone sees it's face directly or via photo, it goes into a blind rage, and will stop at nothing to destroy whoever saw it's face. Then there's also a couple videos by Evan Royalty, SCP: Overlord, and SCP: Dollhouse, you could do reactions to. Bear in mind the SCP field is meant to be a more serious, and creepy area.

Inbreeding was pretty common among royalty even in modern times. During WWI. the British king, the German kaiser and the Russian tsar were first cousins if I remember correctly.

That was less to do with inbreeding and more to do with the several political marriages Queen Victoria's surviving kids had.

28:47 On Lovecraft and Air Conditioning; Apparently, H.P. Lovecraft had no constitution for mathematics or sciences, which is why he legitimately found the (at the time) new-fangled invention of internal air conditioning to be frightening and a perfect source of horror. I would recommend this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/saOa4KSqm6ucrX4 to learn more (I like this channel; also this is the video for how I know this information)

4:58 I won’t spoil anything about that specific old guy but a 60 year old man being decrepit and in a wheelchair isn’t super out of place in the time period the game is loosely emulating, Victorian London. Back then you’d probably be very lucky to live to 20

Good point about the treaties. I studied a tiny bit on the subject. Let's say Australia and Japan eliminate tariffs on cars. They agree to the reciprocal agreement, but it's up to each government to enforce it on their soil. If the Japanese people suddenly has the Diet vote "screw that", there's no World Trade Police to come collect a fine out of the pocket of every Japanese citizen.

what ever you do, do not go down the scp hole. 1% good stories, 49% bootleg goosebumps, another 40% are just trying to be the most powerful, and 9% are stories that read like they were written by fourchan users who were fead nothing but the eggs of and eldritch horror.

SCP is an online thing, similar to creepypastas, but if they were subject to being researched by government agency, contained and classified. SCP stands for Secure Contain Protect. Often times it's a bunch of interesting reads and story attachments to do with an object's history that lead to its classification. SCP 96: The Shy Guy. A tall humanoid of pale complexion, overgrown fingertip length, and a jaw that opens incredibly wide. Upon seeing its face in any way even by camera, it goes into a state of distress, shortly after seeking those who seen its face and terminates them despite not seeing where they went or whatever barriers in the way. 96 takes the quickest route to the subject and demolishes through the barriers to them. Bullets don't incapacitate 96 and it will simply keep going until its finished. Containing 96 is as simple as a sack over its head and a pressure sensative floor in an enclosed cell to be sure it's inside. While nothing like it truly exists, people often reference it and the sculpture 173 (some might suggest he's a giant peanut that strangles people)

Think of the absurdity to have a law system where judges are elected by political leaders, and having those positions for life. . . yes, monarchy is absurd, but the US have it's own share of problems.
