Hey man bad leadership kept me outta the military I’m 27 and I trained from freshman year to the day I found out all my hard work really doesn’t matter and the military was now a joke when I was young kid men in military uniform made me feel protected and I thought it was the coolest thing to see them out and bout my younger brother is currently serving in the military. He is stationed in Romania …I still wished I went in but I’m glad i didn’t

Well when you have 10 times the generals we had in WW2 who didn't earn their positions it a great indicator that the military has become all political. Then you throw in some gays, some trans, and decide it's too mean to yell at recruits in boot camp anymore and you end up with the current military we have now.😂

Led 3 Marine Infantry Units in Iraq. I absolutely hated being ordered to do 2 hr patrols only to go back to base to hunker down behind 12 ft walls. The enemy effectively had 18 hrs to fuck with the local population and set up ambushes. But the military was too risk averse to do what really needed done to control battlespace by allowing small units to do spooky untethered shit. I also thought it was completely unfair when they pushed non-grunts into grunt operations to fill combat power. Artillery is hybrid grunt and Military Police are not grunts at all, yet they constantly augmented them into grunt ops. Artillery is King of the Battlefield, but they are supporting arms. Grunts jobs are to find, fix, close with and destroy enemy with fire and maneuver. That fire comes from artillery 12k or more away from the front lines. Especially with a motorized howitzer. That’s why every grunt needs to know how to call for fire and close air support. You aren’t walking or driving a cannon up a cliff.

Colonel Gadson is one of the leaders that when he left subordinates followed. The guy next in line was just a lesser caliber. It’s why I got out. I also remember the pre deployment speech. “Look left, look right, someone next to you isn’t coming home” and they didn’t lie My 2nd trip to Iraq I was there when the main headline was “0 troops lost on this day” finally sometime in 2009 an American didn’t die over there.

They attacked on more fronts, at start they took some territories, then they got their as+++s kicked
