Another great video John. Would be nice to include some step by step info on installing an auto-drain. More detail regarding service indicators would be helpful as well; while very interested in filter life indicators, I'm having difficulty finding info/deciphering what units they are available on/filter types they work with.

We started getting some leaking from the manual drain on our ARO3000 filter recently. The filter itself was green and broken/disintegrating. We replaced the filter but it's still leaking. Next up is to replace the manual drain and the two o-rings that are in the housing. Crossing our fingers that this solves the leaking.

Thanks for helpful video. I want to ask some questions. How often do we need to change the filters? Do these filters have a lifetime? Does it need to be replaced even if it does not get dirty at certain periods?

Can the filter be washed / cleaned and reused? Thanks
@aropumps

Thanks for your interest in ARO FRLs. Our standard 5-micron filter element is made of Polyethylene. As the filter is used, the element will change color from white to yellow and then brown as it removes contaminants from the air supply. Worst-case scenario, the filter element becomes so dirty that the performance of downstream devices is noticeably reduced due to lack of air supply. For best results, we highly recommend replacing a used filter element. However, the used element can be cleaned. To do this, you'll need to depressurize the air system and then remove the filter bowl. Remove the old element and gently wash it with a mild soap and warm water. Allow to dry and then reinstall. Not all the contaminants will be removed from the element, but it may be enough to keep your unit operating until a replacement can be ordered.

Can you drain this trap under pressure?
@aropumps
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can! If the filter has an auto-drain, the unit will expel dirt and water automatically. If the filter has a manual drain, then the operator will need to press the rubber boot (that extends down from the bowl) sideways. This will open the valve and internal pressure will then expel the water and dirt.
