'ARRAM KYANAM' is a death ritual practiced by Nyishi Community whenever a person dies. However, the ritual differs according to age, sex or status of a dead person.
The ritual is performed by priest called 'Changlang Nyub'(Priest who performs the ritual of dead people).
This particular ritual is of a dead 'ZIRRI NYUB'(healers who fixes broken bones) late Nabam Taging of Ompuli village of Sagalee circle who was one of the renowned 'Zirri Nyub' of Nyishi Community.
In 'ARRAM KYANAM' ritual the 'Changlang Nyub' reminds the dead person that he is dead already and tell him to go to his place where his dead soul belongs(it is beleived that every dead soul has their respective place in other side of the world according to the type of the death and also according to the status of the people while he/she was alive) according to their death and warns him not come back or disturb the worldly life.
In this particular chanting the priest is reminding the soul of a particular dead person that he is dead already and telling him to go to the place where he belongs(Changha, Name of a layer or place where this dead soul have to go) and telling him not to disturb the family members or human life of the world.
