Highly unlikely he is alive. He appeared a family orientated type of guy who was always in touch with his family. The fact that he's been missing for an entire month speaks volumes. Feel for the family because until they find him they'll not be able to have a sense of closure.

@@robineggblue-bp3rq Law Enforcement might operate differently in the US….. However, from a law enforcement perspective when they don’t yet have the evidence to charge for a serious crime - it’s common to lay charges for any crime, however minor, often it aids the investigation for various reasons and gets the person off the street and into an interview room - a somewhat controlled environment. If they’re charging him, it’s not random IMO - there’s usually more to it and very likely he’s involved in some way or knows ….. everything.

The thing is, over 600,000 people a year are reported missing in the U.S. Police Stations, and particularly small agencies, can't drop everything they are doing and send a team to sit in the remote desert looking for one person who "may" be missing. He lived in Utah, was last seen in Nevada but his phone last pinged in Utah......the closest cities with crime labs in both those states are 100-150 miles away, and cover vast amounts of land (ie Elko Co sheriffs cover 17,000 square miles of Elko County, and there's more than one person missing in Elko County). And we don't know what they were doing behind the scenes.... ie, getting warrants to get cell phone records, bank records, etc. So I'm not ready to throw a brick at the police.

It's also a beautiful thing when people who are religious offer up a prayer (something sacred to them) in a bid to assist others. This was such a solid good kid who wanted nothing more than to farm, he was responsible and had found what he loved to do early in life, he proved the naysayers wrong and was making it happen in that soil. Anyone would be honored to have such a hardworking kid! The felon squatting in the camper illegally with MANY firearms with him should be tossed in jail immediately and questioned hard, him just being in possession of a firearm as a convicted felon he’ll do time. Being out there alone can be scary, I really hope the kid was armed with at least a pistol, I always have one in my purse since I got my permit and I feel much safer, I really hope and pray he’s alive but having that kind of piece of trash with illegal firearms squatting in a camper so close to where you lay your head to sleep doesn’t look very promising. There are a lot of asinine speculative comments here... making it very clear why Dylan's parents are blocking people who do this. None of the speculation is helpful. Also, for a "professional news organization" to put out a video with such bad audio quality is LAME. Another point: Connecting this warrant/arrest with Dylan's case is speculative and leads viewers to believe that the person is involved with the disappearance no matter what disclaimer you state. This is likely going to lead to a civil case against your news organization. If and when any connection of this person to Dylan's disappearance becomes fact it will be appropriate to connect the 2 stories.

My understanding is yes you are correct. the muzzle loaders are not considered "fire arms", yet the .22 rifle is. Maybe arresting him on the 22 rifle with a prior felony will allow them to use him for more information in lue of a longer sentence etc. Will be interested in how this all pans out...

Yes, but even the 22 was not in his possession so I doubt they could make the charges stick unless they could extract DNA or fingerprints. It is a he said she said situation. It seems likely they are harassing the guy. The arrested him on the word of the other guy for a potential crime. Now, if they have some reason to believe he was part of the murder and are putting pressure on him, then that is a different story(still illegal to arrest him for no reason though).

People without mental health issues are choosing to not work these days. It's some kind of epidemic. People choosing to live off of others by using the system, burglarizing, and bullying. In my area the increase is unprecedented. I had my mailbox stolen and two break-in's in the last year. These folks don't think a value in contributing to society - they are takers. If someone can hold a sign all day long in front of a store with a help wanted sign they can go stand behind a cash register. But they don't.
