This is another school project I had, though I've had the idea for a while. The story is inspired off of a song called "La petite fille de la mer," which can be found here: • La petite fille de la ...
I would recommend listening to that song.
Here's the link to the song I ended up using: • Imbre (Piano)
The plot of this short is essentially that there's a character whom I originally imagined as a villain doing what they deemed was necessary in order to accomplish their purpose, though as it stands I like leaving the ability to interpret whether they're the villain or the hero doing what they believe is best. They get home from a particularly rough mission or encounter, and have only a second to try and unwind before they realize they need to leave. Now. They begin packing up the rest of the essentials they didn't already have in their bag, and as they turn to leave, they remember their little baby who's started crying in the corner that they were too preoccupied with their own survival to have thought about. They debate what they should do, and decide that the best thing they can do is to leave the baby out of it and leave a note for someone else to find and take care of it. With what little time they have, they jot down a note addressed to "My Beloved Child" and regretfully hand it to their baby, leaving only a couple seconds to mourn before they steel their resolve and leave with a swish of their cloak, never to return.
I debated inserting a scene directly to follow this one, which would include a kind young woman holding a note she found in her belongings with instructions to be able to find the baby so she could take care of it. We would then see her enter the room, and the story would cut right as she saw the baby, leaving the presumption that she took care of it and raised it as her own. I could only have this scene be a minute long though, so I left that part out.
