You need to put more water..ARROZ CALDO- MEANS RICE SOUP..""CALDO" in Spanish . May I recommend this way of cooking ARROZ CALDO- lots of water .boil the glutinous rice with plenty of water.. once it's done.... On a frying pan..sautee onions,chopped garlic and chicken..cook chicken until a bit golden..then add it to the boiled glutinous rice.. cook for 30 more minutes... and make sure you add salt to taste...and more water as glutinous rice tend to absorb water .ARROZ CALDO- is not supposed to be dry....

@@Ray-ru3pcYes that’s what I am doing when I cooked arroz Caldo. I sauté the garlic and ginger put the chicken and simmer for 5m minutes then I add the glutinous rice . ( malagkit) add the ground pepper, chicken cubes broth then add water and bring it to boil until the rice is tender. Add water more to it while boiling tender. When it is cooked serve it with eggs as toppings. garlic powder and spring onions. So yummy..

Ahoj dobre rano! Arroz Caldo...yum. Uniquely your own ang Filipino cooking talaga. Usually, I only cook as cold remedy. Sweet rice, onions and julliened baby ginger. Top with crunchy chicken skin(I prefer garlic) cilantro and ground pepper. .MY secret to more sabaw is to wait until rice is fully cooked and then add 2cups hot water...salt to taste😊. Enjoy your last few days there! Btw Jafet, nakakatipid pala ang mag Holiday dyan. Hindi katulad sa Pinas na maraming mapasyalan😅

Arroz Caldo is a Spanish dish made of rice and meat broth. Risotto is Italian version(arbor rice) while the Chinese version was more "soupy" and Filipinos fused those 2gether and voilà!!! Added a twist of calamansi, spring onion, toasted garlic, eggs and made exclusively with chicken, sweet rice with...lots of ginger as a cold and flu remedy😊

Maminka is like my partner's mom. She didn't like Filo food. So para mas madali, ako na lang nag adjust sa food nila. In the end, I came to like her food. And now that she's gone, I miss her and her traditional Croatian dishes. 😢 Walang matigas na tinapay sa charm ng mga Filo. Your maminka will warm up to you eventually. God bless your family. Ops, Jafet... i just need to make a small correction on that. Arroz Caldo is a latino/ Spanish name, but the dish is a native interpretation of the Chinese Lugaw. In the Philippines, we have the melting pot of influences from our traditional trading partners (India and China), then with the influences of our foreign masters who colonized us (Spain, US, and a little bit of Japan) Yes, they are influenced, BUT they are distinctly Filipino. If you go to the countries where these dishes were inspired from... they do not know what it is. Example, Lumpia, Pancit, etc. chinese people from HK, Taiwan and Mainland will not know what those are. Other examples, Menudo, Empanada and Tamales are all latino inspired, but they will not know our versions because they are already Filipino creations. Similarly, these latino sounding dishes - Adobo, Lechon, Kinilaw - - THESE ARE ALL ORIGINAL, INDIGENOUS PRE-COLONIAL DISHES.

Jafet, though “arroz caldo” is a Spanish name, the dish's origins are Filipino. It is an adaptation of a congee that was created by Chinese-Filipino immigrants. Research the facts first before spreading wrong information.

You do not equate having a big house with being rich. It has something to do more with accommodating extended family to be able to take care of aging parents in the same household. In-laws and outlaws should live harmoniously and get over petty issues so seniors in the family won’t feel unnecessary distress seeing their adult children live a blissful life when they are gone.
