England's midfield/attack is being hung out to dry by slow ball progression out of defense. It's been awful down the right, with only 1 decent pass (which led to the Bellingham goal) in 3 games. Stone's has 3 and 4 ratings from L'equipe and Walker has only been around 1 point better. Tripper passes sideways and backward as he's out of position. We've already seen the football media pushing an old-fashioned dose of racism (look at the coverage after the Iceland game). Don't play in to the Neville narrative that Saka is the issue when the problems start with a couple of City boys.

On paper, England should try 3-4-3 and put Saka / Trent at the wide wing backs, even if it means sacrificing Trippier. Drop Bellingham into the midfield with Rice, and whatever you like in the front 3. But then it is Southgate.

2nd half was not slightly better, it was almost great. One of the best performances of the tournament. You fans are forgot to switch off cry baby mode sometimes. It was objectively very good 2nd half. Also Mainoo somewhat played Odegaard role and it worked.

Why's there so much talk about moving players around and nothing about the manager actually changing his formation to fit the players he's got? 4-3-3 isn't the only formation in football, its getting really boring seeing every manager do the same thing or try to play the same way.

With so many teams playing 433 im surprised we dont see 442 making a comeback more, if you have strong wingers that can run up and down the wings and help defensively ( which we do as gabby and saka always help out defensively and show the effort ) 442 counters 433 very well.

England’s team are a team of megastars in the world of football. They work miracles for their clubs on a regular basis playing creative attractive football. This has unfortunately come at a time when we have Gareth Southgate as manager. As defensive strategies go it doesn’t get more defensive than this. The team look choked and lost. His days are numbered already because of that. Edit whilst we’re losing lol. You pick your players on their performances all year then set your strategy to their strengths. Not some negative boring idea of your own. Comical stuff.

Good afternoon gentlemen thank you for a fantastic show And for confirming that Ozil was a market opportunity or another way of looking at it is panic buy I remember that season what we really needed was a striker and a holding midfielder as amazing as Waz we already had lots of players in his position, e.g Santi Jack and Aaron do you have any other examples where Arsenal have made panic buys market opportunities?

Thanks for answering my Eze question, especially so thoroughly I really like the player, and I think he could fulfil a few roles for us, so I’m not as worried about the fit as TNAT is. However, I completely agree that I don’t see how spurs would fit him in as a regular starter. I really hope if he leaves, if it isn’t to us, that it’s a non PL club. As I’d hate to see him at a rival. Here’s hoping for an Eze-ESR switch (ESR + 30m to palace would be ideal)
@Slim2Flo

Esr should mean we only pay about 20 mil. He is worth more to me than nketiah, but either way id let palace sign any of esr, eddie or even nelson if we get eze the other way.

If Eze release is £60m with a further 8 then you’re valuing ESR at £40-£48m if you’re only giving them £20m. I’m not sure Palace are taking that deal, but obviously hope they would

Thanks for the video Charles. Italy are officially out of Euros(Xhaka masterclass!). Which means Calafiori is now available for any transfer or negotiations. News are keep coming out and recent reports suggest that Arsenal already made official inquiries about the player and Bologna is waiting for an offer to arrive from the PL. Reports also suggest that possible Calafiori deal is dependent of Kiwior's departure. Kiwior is also out of the Euro and according to reports, has interest from Ac Milan,Juventus and Napoli. Will we see some rapid developments around this left sided defender deal now that the Euro has ended for some players? Know that TNAT said on his patreon that Arsenal remain interested in Hato but Calafiori is out on the market and it could be a market opportunity.

I get that it's frustrating to watch and I agree there has to be some change BUT we don't want a radical change. Look at what happened to Italy, too much change can be counter-productive. I'd say let the team play again with its pragmatic identity but ONLY make at most TWO changes to the team. Let Mainoo start again and I'd say drop Jude/Foden for Gordon. I prefer to drop Jude because he's obviously knackered after playing until UCL Finale BUT Foden doesn't have the physicality in what could be a physical battle with Slovakia. So I'd say now, drop Foden and let him have his peace with his young family for a while and start Jude NOT as a number 10 but as an 8 with Gordon on the left wing. Last but not least after that of course, fingers crossed.

Hi Charles Want to put in my two cents on the Germany/Denmark officiating. I've seen loads of people saying the offside and the handball calls are too technical and not in the spirit of the law. That is absolutely wrong. In a time when we're all frustrated with the inconsistency of officiating, having black and white, objective rules is the antidote to all those subjective misses calls.

Eze , Odegaard & Rice as the midield 3 for the non 6 teams. Absolutely fits in, competition to Odegaard as well. Plus the free kick specialist as well. How many goals have we scored from direct free kicks. We have none. Get it done Edu. Player plus cash makes super sense

If i were a club manager, I would be looking at taking ESR and Nketiah as a pair. Both players know each other well, and they know how to play to each others strengths. I know the6 are both English and therefore command premium prices but that synergy could be a game changer for some teams. Just a thought.

Hi Charles, Southgate tactics has always been about not losing games. The set up that TNAT stated is what is needed in the knockout round if England is to progress. England has a plethora of attacking talent at their disposal but Southgate does not know how to set up his team to be potent in attack and not lose games. Hopefully he learns before England gets knocked out of the Euros.

What I find absolutely ridiculous is Southgate (who should be in South Park ) is experimenting in the middle of the tournament when he has had a couple of years to prepare. The time for experimenting should be over. How many internationals have England played in 2 years? The man is a clown and not fit for purpose.I have watched England since the days of Don Revie .Southgate's backers say he has been so successful. I think any success England has had is despite Southgate, not because of him. And , let's face it, England has had really easy qualifying opponents for both the World Cup and the Euros.and been very fortunate in the draws. He has probably the most talented England squad I've seen in 50 years. But he is a politician who says all the "right" things at press conferences which is why his bosses love him.But his tactics? Abominable. He lied when he said he didn't tell players to park the bus after they scored 1 goal. Is he saying the team didn't follow his instructions? He's subtly shifting the blame onto the players for his awful tactics . For God 's sake man. He's the manager and should take full responsibility. Quite frankly he disgusts me and I really think he is the worst England manager I have seen in over 50 years. He has been so lucky....

Is Eze better than ESR? IT kinda feels that the only difference is Eze plays more regularly. ESR seems a little bit more dynamic, playing a variety of roles. In addition, his last few appearances he really showed his defensive tenacity Eze also seems to have a worrying injury record.

Eze has flair, fantastic ball control, technique and is more athletic and fast than esr. Eze is one of the few players in the league that can comfortably beat players on the turn and drive forward in a central position. Only doku and kudus has more dribbles than eze in the league and they are both wingers… id take eze anyday and he is an arsenal fan, was in colny and has publicly said it was always his dream to play for arsenal. Playing for the badge would mean alot to him he would work hard for us.
