I'd be interested in learning which artist you referred to who works with this process. Thanks! I love the woodblock look of these.

Not sure, but when I googled it I found some artists that way. Didn't plan to show their work, so didn't keep track of names. Sorry!

Wow! I've just started working with inks, specifically for calligraphy and drawing. I wondered about what it mean when the description said non-carbon ink. You said real India ink must have carbon. So my Bombay india inks would not work. But that's fine. I love the results you get! So, what exactly is tempera paint? I thought it was ink little kids used. If you have to buy it from an art supply store it must be somehow different.

Tempera is paint kids use, but adults use it too. The main thing is that it isn't permanent like oils or acrylic so it will wash out of fabric, for example, but it would work fine on paper.

@@BothThingsCreativewhat do you mean real India Ink? I have a bottle that has India Ink written on the bottle. How do I know if it is “real” or not please?

I'm wondering which is better for this art form - gouache or tempura? I'm not totally sure what the difference is actually.

Tempera washes off and you need a paint that will be permanent....

Oh this is fun! Thank you for sharing. Does it matter what kind of watercolor paper (hot press or cold press, I imagine rough would be a whole different look) ?

Hi Jane, I wonder whether you can use Sumi ink (Japanese) instead of the India ink? Have you tried this?
