People this video clearly states that these guys were influenced by Pantsula dance from South Africa. Their name too comes from a popular South African Kwaito song in the early 2000's called "Tofo tofo". Yes they dance Pantsula period, there's no other name for it!!! They are our brothers just showing some love by doing what South Africans do!!! In South Africa we also do dance from Nigeria, Congo, America etc. If it's good then why not!!! I think Dance and Music demonstrates how connected we are as Black people because nobody moves like us!!!

Vusi Twala They keep calling the dance Tofo Tofo though. It's spantsula.....Even the dances in the video talk as if they invented the dance.

I agree with you Vusi ... the origin is misguided in way ... South Africans have been doing Pantsula since Apartheid era .... the Mozambicans copied it from mzanzi .... She must just go to Soweto & she will find pantsula dancers way better than Tofo tofo.

Chicago steppers and black fraternities can use these dancers! I would love to see some collaboration. Their great dancers, and it's their culture.

what are they doing now? they could've stayed in LA and open a school of african dance, ESPECIALLY affter their choreography became popular and won awards... they could've been an inpiration to many and transmit the culture on a whole new level

Once they stay in US, the culture and originality will be distorted. It’s best they came back home to Africa, and if they open the Dance School here, then people can come from LA & the World to Africa and learn. It will be more original

Imagine that the USA choreographers could have done the moves, the young men movement would have possible been stolen and profited from and they may not even know. The plight of the poor! People need to patent every bit of their art. So, who was awarded best video? What did the young men receive? Ok, some notoriety. I hope Beyonce did right by them

Tofo Tofo is from Mozambique. The dance us our South African Pantsula dance. Mozambique is one of our neighbouring countries who picked it up while working in the mines of South Africa.

True but migrating workers from Mozambique and Angola brought the language to the townships. That's where they picked up Pantsula dance.
