He is right, I am a terrible artist. But I am a great cake decorator, I taught myself. Using Wilton pans and products. My daughter always wanted something home made and it never occurred to her that while Mom was a decent cook, she knew nothing about cake decorating. I ended up enjoying it so much I made cakes for other Moms who loved the ones they saw at my daughter's parties. I can't wait for grandkids! All the young ones I knew are in college now! I never charged money for the cakes because that was my gift, but sometimes ladies I barely knew would invite me to their kids' parties just so they could get a free cake. One August I made 6 cakes! I had to start keeping it down to close friends and family.

I'm quite certain Mr. Wilton designed his own ties, which was cutting edge, at the time. Some of Wilton's tie designs ultimately became popular fondant cutters. The kitchen wallpaper was a non-subliminal message intended to introduce his new architectural and Baroque design molds. As for the bookshelf library behind him, that is not a photo backdrop, mural, or real! It is was made completely out of buttercream frosting on board. This was Wilton's vision for the Hogwart's Library Cake, from the soon to be infamous, Harry Potter series. And if you believe all that, I wouldn'nt deem you gullible - EVERYTHING Wilton and his choosen artists (another of his talents) imagined became the world standard for food artistry, even in Framce. By the way, ever notice how slender everyone still is in the 1970s? The 70s decade was the beginning of obesity in America, when the grain and fast food industries began adding corn syrup, heavy salt, coloring agents, BHA, BHT, and many other preservatives into the ready-to-eat food supply, and the beginning of increased cases of ADHD and autism.
