I like doing weird not realistic art. I only do realism to satiate my ego and prove to people I'm a "real" artist. The more I learn and get confident, the less realism I do
@Oriannelucot
7 жыл бұрын
It's weird because I think I'm not an artist because of the fact that I only do realistic stuff... because I think doing realistic art is just copy a picture and the day I will be able to do some weird stuff and imagine these... I'm gonna be a real artist... ( oh and sorry for my english😂)
@BetoAzamar

I do the same, but of course I am new. I just want to be able to paint the traditional stuff to keep silent the critics and ignorant people, but my plan is to keep on my own weird abstract ideas.

Yes! Not much support for a different style you try compared to what people are used to seeing from you. My husband refers to my more experimental pieces as being "out there" but I don't think he likes it as well. LOL

I've always been so self conscious about my sketchbooks, wanting everything in them to look really well done and interesting. realism is a first step to developing your style imo, tbh i find styles that stem from realism equally or more interesting as realism sometimes! once you've gotten the skills you should try to bend those rules & create something really unique, people's opinions don't matter as much sometimes especially when it comes to expressing yourself!

You will lose your identity to people who you don't want to know that type of stuff. It just scares me so much, does it scare anyone else or just me? Sometimes I hate watching videos about this cause then I'm just scared about all of that stuff and that will sometimes last through the day or longer. I hate the truth of how people are and the people who work for these companies.

I'm going to be sincere about where your at with your style Robin. Right now from the videos I've seen, your expressive hoodie character, unique view on life, and mannerism of drawing and painting, your style is a very rare combination of four painters: Van Gough, Rembrandt, Da Vinci and Jim Davis. Your vibrant use of color to express your painting is definitely Van Goughish. Your skill level of painting is the same or above Rembrandt. Your faces speak volumes like Da Vinci portraits. But your cartooning craziness is that of Jim Davis on home trippy. You definitely have your own style and is called Hoodie. The hoodie style allows you to explore your thoughts to the end of the universe and back and through and all around. One day you'll be happy and your hoodie painting reflects this mood, another day you want to hide from the world and just doodle whatever comes to mind. This is the hoodie style, it's freestyle painting. Don't ever change Robin, your perfect and funny. Your one of the few channels I can watch weekly without being bored. Other channels literally paint the same theme over and over and over. But your hoodie style, we NEVER know what you'll do in your next video - your awesome. Now if I could just borrow your energy for a day to see if I get myself to create one real drawing video hahaha!

I get lots of sketchy emails and the most reliable clue (for me) is how non-specific they are. Things like "your painting" or "your website" instead of actual names/titles for things, that's a big clue. Sometimes I get really weirdly written emails from people who want to buy art, but have really weird questions about it (like "is it in good condition?" huh????). I usually just send them to my shop listing which (hopefully) answers any question one could have, which also demonstrates that I'm not inexperienced/naive. They disappear without a trace after that. I have an unfortunate core belief that if someone is being nice to me, I regard them with suspicion. It can be useful during this one specific situation ;)

So are you exploring new subjects, or new styles? Because you can paint waves, but you can paint them like Rembrandt, or Van Gogh or Frazetta or Warhol. Likewise, you could paint abstract subjects like the ghostly figure end the end of your video, but try to paint them realistically. Personally, I'd prefer to see you applying realistic techniques to fantastic subjects, rather than moving towards cartooning or graphic-style work.

Ugh I don't understand everyone in this comment section talking about drawing "weird" stuff and then not wanting to do it because other people don't enjoy it. Why do you draw to please others? Unless you're doing it to get paid you should always just draw what you enjoy or draw to perfect what you want to draw like and ENJOY IT EVEN IF OTHERS DON'T. Creating is a self pleasing behavior, if others enjoy it it should just be a bonus. Why would you ever force yourself to draw what others want from you... idk I guess I just hate people and don't feel any need to please them :v so I just can't understand. You guys do you i guess... still feel like you should do what you enjoy tho even if your family shuns you lmao... adios...
