I'm a Chelsea fan but Thierry is my favourite Premier League player of all time... He's the best PL player of all time too. The goals, the assists, the power, the pace, pure devastation. That goal against Leeds is beautiful because it was perfection, beautiful first touch, on the left side of the box, curled right foot into the far right corner...trademark Thierry. Then the Celebration you could see was pure ecstasy from him! A true legend of the Premier League and World Football. Icon.

The Leeds goal is my favourite too. There was just such a special emotion in that moment. The love in the whole stadium was palpable. In that moment everyone was so happy for him, maybe one of the only times in football where the fans knew 100% without question that a player scored a goal for a club because they love the club. When that happens you are family for life.

The influence is there. The systems and ideas are built upon what he learnt from Pep and Arsene. It's not an insult. It's actually a great compliment to call him the "mini Pep", because Pep is currently the greatest active manager. Possibly the greatest of all time. Mikel drawing comparison is good context for his own development and how he may change the game.

@troy8613

@@stewartmaclean6665 You’d be correct if we didn’t have a 3 year sample size in the same league. When SAF bought JSV from Lazio he was heralded as the missing piece of the jigsaw,he had one poor season in the team and they sold him the very next season to chelski for half price. Arsenal have just paid 6m less than what chelski paid after 3 years of poor performances. Imo it’s unprofessional because the percentages are against him succeeding, especially for the cost. Most if it not all Arsenal fans were laughing at chelski (similar to chelski fans laughing at Arsenal now) at how much money they waisted on Havertz, but now they’re smoking copium trying to justify the signing. It’s intellectually dishonest. I hope I’m wrong and you can tell me “see I told you so”, but I’ve never seen a player have 3 poor seasons and turn it around in the same league (that I can recall).
