This was super helpful! Seems my issues with getting the hang of markers came from watching a lot of time-lapse tutorials, which made me think my blends should have been instantly smooth. Love these longer, more in-depth tutorials. Can’t wait to see more of them!

This is why I wanted to do a real time tutorial. I could have made it much longer but was worried that it would get boring! Thanks for the awesome feedback, I look forward to making more content for you 👍

Thank you for a great tutorial in normal time, and all your tips about paper etc. I have just bought the 120 set and the skin tone set...I am not able to draw, sadly, but I use colour on stamped images (created by clever artists!) to put on cards. I have always used pencils, but really felt they had no depth, so I am learning to use these wonderful markers and trying not to get discouraged with the results!!! I have hundreds of stamps for all occasions, it should be fun. My mother was an amatuer, but very skilled artist and I still have her work hanging on our walls, but her gift just didn't get passed on to me. I am a new subscriber too.

you are more than welcome, I hope you find your feet with the markers, It really is just a case of practice. Your stamps sound great and I'm sure the markers will really make them pop 😀

Thanks for this tutorial. I loved seeing in real time your blending process. Although I have been an artist for many years, I haven’t had many alcohol ink markers before. I bought the 60 and spent the afternoon yesterday making a sample page of them and the skin tone pack of 35 or 36-I might be missing one! Anyway that was interesting, but nothing beats watching someone who knows about the markers to see how you do it.

Another excellent marker tutorial! Thanks - I've subscribed. I suspect that many relative newcomers to Markers can't yet justify the cost of Copics (maybe in the future - ) so work with Artezas or Prismacolor markers is reassuring and helpful. Your way of explaining exactly what you're doing and which markers/pencils you're using is excellent. I hadn't encountered the practice of using colored pencils together with markers until I saw your Copic blending tutorial. More blending tutorials would be helpful to me and others. For me and (I suspect) many other relative newcomers, your explanations of color choices are also very valuable. For future tutorials I'd be interested to see - (1) ways of *lightening* the tint or tone of a marker (1) any uses of "colorless blending markers" (3) the use of grays in shading. (I don't want much, do I?)

Hey, thanks so much and I'm glad you found this useufl. I have lots of plans for more tutorials including copic markers + other brands. In fact many of the techniques can be applied to different brands of markers. I'll try to cover some of the points you've mentioned in future videos.

Thank you, I just started coloring with alcohol markers and I was just using them as a base color and then giving texture with color pencils but after watching your video I give it a try and I loved it, thank you for such a great teaching session, I still need to develop the skill but I liked my first attempt following your video. What other paper that is not so expensive as the one you are using will you recommend, I will buy the paper you recommend but once I learn to color better and make it worth it but for now I am looking for a good not so expensive paper I can use to print designs to color with markers, Thanks again

I only have the set of 60 markers, so I only have the peach and pale peach. Are there any other colors that you might suggest for skin tone aside from dessert sand and cinnamon? I just started using these and I already love them for my anime drawing. Any advice would help greatly, thank you!

I'll have to double check but I'd say try swatching all the skin looking tones out onto your paper and try some similar colors 😄😄
