On November 16, 2006, Arthur Eads sat down at his home in Loveland, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Arthur served with the Navy Seabees, first with the 45th Naval Construction Battalion in Alaska. After the 45th was decommissioned, he served with the 133rd in the Pacific Theater. He was attached to one of the first waves of Marines to go ashore at Iwo Jima, staying ashore for the entire battle. From there, he was part of the occupation forces in Japan. While in Japan, he was able to visit Nagaski and see the aftermath of the atomic bomb dropped there. After his service, he returned to Kansas where he met his lovely wife Rosalyn. Together they raised a wonderful family and started a successful plumbing business.
