I remember when it came out. We have to take in perspective that The Doors used to open(!) for this band. Such is the fickle finger of Fate. What might have been.

Trying to recreate a masterpiece is almost impossible. Trying to recreate a masterpiece 33 years later is even more. But not only did Arthur Lee managed to pull it off, he did it all live in concert, totally nailing it! RIP Arthur Lee.

Forever Changes is a masterpiece. It's a crime that it's not better known. The use of horns and strings is genius. Arthur's songwriting described his life, what he witnessed. I was fortunate to have seen Love many times, at Pandora's Box, the Whiskey A Go Go, and more. They always sounded great live. After the Beatles, they were my favorite band.❤❤❤

I envy you. But so many times, a band's greatest work comes during their own self-implosion. The Mamas and the Papas is another example. The world owes Arthur Lee better.

I bought the album in 1969. Just discovered these. Concert videos. Busy being in the Army for 20 years the 10 more driving 18 wheelers thur 48 states and Canada. These live performance are just like the album. To bad Arthur Lee passed away what a voice. The whole band is one of greats in my 73 years. And like 60 of the best Rock bands thur the years

Just genius, gorgeous, so fantastic I can't put fully into words. Arthur Lee holds his own with the greats of his generation like Hendrix and Dylan. But his sound is so original and timeless, his lyrics so sincere. Time is all we have -- what a great and concise message.

This band and the only real BS&T with Al Kooper and Steve Katz brought horns and strings to the forefront in this wonderful, wonderful era of music. No regrets being in my 70's because I got to see all these amazing concerts at the Filmore, The Capital Theater, the Wolman Skating Rink, et al. What memories. RIP Arthur.

This live album is an actual classic. Forever Changes was never played live by the original Love. No live recordings or videos by Love 65-68. Love from 94-03 was L.A. group Baby Lemonade backing Arthur, reconvening after Arthur's prison time was served. Arthur went back to Memphis, his birth home and formed another Love group from remnants of The Oblivions and Reigning Sound before he passed from Myeloid Lukemia in 06. A fair amount of live stuff from 03-05 on KZitem and performance wise,Arthur brought it right til the end!

Actually, Johnny and Michael Stuart Ware played with Arthur and Baby Lemonade/ Love 94-04,as did original drummer Don Conka. Johnny and Michael played with Baby Lemonade after Arthur passed. Emmett Lundbourg of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives sang Arthur's leads. KZitem stuff exists of some of these shows.

Check out Love Story DVD, interviews with everyone involved and then some. Alas,no vintage 60s clips,as very little exists. The Forever Changes Concert DVD from 03 (Royal Festival Hall London) is also worth seeing. Arthur is in fine voice through it all and the orchestra blends well with the band to create a classic concert and live Lp/DVD.

This guy, Arthur Lee, was so far ahead of his time. Bringing in an orchestra, long before the Beatles’ George Martin put violin of Elenor Rigby. This song, basically three songs woven together (like Lennon and McCartney’ A Day in the Life, had started out as two separate songs) is a masterpiece. Not to mention the beautiful, poetic lyric, and that perfect, spot on vocal delivery. EVERYONE is in top form.

@@benlotus2703 Thanks Ben....Many people missed the greatness of this band; one-hit wonders? Maybe. But when you put out an album where every song is beloved you get a pass. Child is Father to the Man comes to mind, too. My wife who was in the R&R business for many years always used to tell me it's the writing that counts. There are not too many groups like the Eagles who write their own material. And that's where the money is too. Arthur Lee RIP..You were magnificent. I wore Forever Changes out of so many years. Thankfully he is on youtube with much of his incredible work. Not sure you knew this? Check it out. Thanks for your post..love deserves it!

Arthur is soo confident and sings with authority, imo, is the words they wrote 40 years earlier- BUT NOW, HAVING LIVED THAT "VERY VERY "full" life LIFE, HE BELIEVES what he is singing- now he points to his audience and says "THESE EWORDS ARE TRUE"!! THe BEATLES NEVER EVAN BEGAN TO TOUCch the deep mystery of this music.
