Actually you can do a bit of both. Charging 15-20 an hour then adding a set amount for experties and then another set amount for the products you used to caculate your total. Like if you make a detailed painting of a sunset over water lets say, its 10x12 inches on canvas with acrylic paints and those are moderate priced. And it took an hour and a half. Well 20 an hour so thatd be 30+ 50 (set amount for experties) and another 25 (for the cost of creating it and the taxes of selling it) 105$. Thats how most artists i know do it 🤷♂️ and thats prolly how i will

I’m 13 and I am starting off with vendor fairs to sell my art. I have struggled pricing some of my watercolor pieces but for my acrylics I charge about $2-$3 an hour above the state minimum. For now I just tried to find a price that is worth my time but also sellable.

Starting at 13 is impressive! Pricing your art can be tricky, but it sounds like you've found a good balance between valuing your time and making it affordable. Keep up the great work!

But what if an artist purposely takes a long time so they charge more?
