Everything you said in this video is spot on. When you mentioned people looking down all the time, that's me. I consciously have to straighten up and look straight ahead. Years of reading, looking down at watercolor or acrylic work...yep. Loved your reference to Dr. Who! Just recently started using pastels with an easel, so that helps. I do have an Apple watch that buzzes every 30 minutes and tells me to get up and walk around. Smiling at the video of you with a lizard on your head. Thanks!

Just tried drawing standing at my painting easel and it worked really well. Best yet for my posture.

Great info, and so important to be proactive to prevent problems. I've noticed a slight hump at the bottom of my neck from looking down (art and guitar) which is quite alarming. I want to straigten up before it gets any worse.

Great advice. I have neck and back issues from time to time, so after your last video on the subject I tried drawing on an angled easel but then I have wrist pain from holding the pencil at such an odd angle. I went back to flat drawing. No win situation. 🤷🏻♀️ Any helpful suggestions for that?

I work in an office. Absolute minimum get up and move every hour. Look away from your work for a few min every half hour or so. Be aware of your neck angles and try and keep straight on to your work with your knees at right angles, feet flat and with decent lumber support. If you can afford it, try a standing desk. The amount of times I've lost track of time drawing or painting and paid for it! This is all great advice about the exercises, I'm going to see if I can track them down.

A lot of great ideas and advice here. Just to add, If you have the possibility a standing desk is amazing. I have one that I can adjust the height, it's electronic from Ikea. My easle fits really nice on it and I can sit or stand which is so great. If I could I would get one of those tremills for under desk but it won't fit.

Thank you, I've been mindful about taking mini breaks, to stand, since your last series on this subject. A good opportunity to look at work from a distance.

OH! YES! I get a thing I call, "Art Neck"! LOL From turning my head sideways. It's mostly habit, a hard one to break. I almost should put a neck brace on so I don't turn my head. Haha! I've gotten it so bad once, parts of my scalp was numb for a couple days. I was doing a 16 foot mural and was under pressure to have it done ASAP. It was horrible! 😆
