Pretty damn similar, no way I could tell you which was which without using my eyes :) The quick swapping during riffing is a brilliant idea by the way. On longer passages with comparisons, your ear/brain kind of gets used to a particular tone and it takes time to adjust to the next tone sometimes fooling the brain into thinking it's "wrong" or "worse" but it's actually just different. Like getting used to a certain bottle of wine, the second bottle sometimes tastes weird for a while. Hope that analogy makes sense...drink responsibly people :D

Glad you found this plugin, TH-U is very underrated, mainly because it doesn't have a big marketing machine behind it, but believe my words, it's the best and most versatile amp sim software in the market (in my opinion), and i have test them all, always comeback to TH-U. The emulations are so real, the knobs are so responsive, it's unbelievable. It's not the cheapest plugin, but it's worth every penny. Also, the Rig Player is a game changer, it captures real rigs, Kemper-ish style and sounds massive. I'm a high gain player myself and TH-U is my go to for everything, jaming, band rehearsals, recording. A hidden gem! Cheers Taylor

THU is great. It combines both modelling and profiling with the Rig Player in one package (for 10 times less the price if you get it on a sale if you combine a new Kemper + Helix or w.e to get also both). I have a helix and they both sound great. I don't have a kemper to directly compare the rig player but honestly it sounds great to me. If you just need it for home/studio use the value is incredible. In any case give it a go in the demo version. To be honest I am surprised so few videos talk about it. I heard it by chance from a random vlog.

@MrVyrtuoso
3 жыл бұрын
The TH-U Heavy 51 sounds near indistinguishable from the 5150 the way you used and it played both. I would assert that the TH-U Heavy 51 would sound better than the 5150 because its parameters being automatable will let you program the plug to produce all kinds of precise sound variations you can conceive over a MIDI sequence. This cannot be replicated on an actual 5150 to even a fraction of the precision and with ease. What I really dig from the TH series is the Randall MTS modules. Of the ones that I have that come with the plug, they sound and respond just like my actual modules, but automatable. The only thing I can wish for is that multiple parameters can be assigned to the same controller. As it doesn't, NI Guitar Rig is still my fave, and it also has a really good 5150 sim.

Did you try the IR loader cabinet or the "fake" ones in TH-U? I just have TH-3 which is included in the free Bandlab Cakewalk DAW. But because I love the JCM900, I gave this limited Overloud package another try recently and actually just the TS808, the JCM900 and a blend of the Kazrog IRs and it sounds pretty good and even beats some sounds I created with the Nalex Diezel or Ninja.
