I actually stumbled upon his original tracks initially, and was in awe. I was just starting to actually listen to heavier styles of music at the time, and I went through his catalogue of covers and I was familiar with the metalcore songs he was covering and very quickly got inspired to learn some of the same songs, and he had/has the tabs available for free on his website. I even uploaded a couple of them on my channel back then. I wasn't that great, but I was proud of my progress. KillrBuckeye didn't inspire me to start playing guitar 10 years ago. But he helped shape me, and gave me someone to look up to that felt more like a peer than an untouchable rockstar. I have him to thank for so much in my musical journey. It was around the time that he left us for a while that I stopped uploading, but it was mostly because I lost interest in trying to compete for views while trying to please an entire audience of elitists that were swamping my comment sections at the time while trying to work with minimal gear/equipment and knowledge of production/recording. And so I pretty much went MIA myself from YT and worked on my own projects, bands, and skills. I learned how to produce, write, compose, arrange. I've gotten immensely better than anything I have uploaded on here, and I got some actual experience playing professionally. I still never had an interest in coming back to try this again. But seeing KillrBuckeye back on the tube is giving me that spark of motivation again.

Wow man. Glad to see you're back at it. I haven't seen one of your videos show up in my feed in years. This guy is truly a member of the old school. One of the first guys I remember watching doing covers of metalcore bands back in the day, and covering them more accurately, and with better technique than 99% of the other people posting covers in those old youtube days. I remember hearing your original song called Arrival in like 2009 and being super inspired by it, and it was stuck in my head for weeks. Even learned how to play it note for note. I was playing in a local metalcore band at the time and we were writing very similar riffs because I was inspired by all the same bands you had been covering. As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Parkway Drive, etc. The harmonized solo you play in arrival, and how it finishes over that fast double kick part where you're trem-picking, that melody was constantly in my head. Then it transitioned right into that palm muted single note riff that's also harmonized which was an awesome riff in and of itself. I had to go back and listen to it now when I saw your video pop up because I hadn't heard it in years. Still as awesome now as it was when I first heard it. If you happen to catch this comment and read my ramblings, just know it's good to see you still playing and enjoying this genre of music. Keep it up!

You my friend are a god on the fingerboard. I only hope you return and reclaim what is yours as the best KZitem guitarist (In my opinion) you inspired me to play and to keep playing. Love your work!

Every time I listen to you play you bring me back to '07. Keep it up brother, you're a beacon of light in a talentless world, a promise if you will that there lies taste in music still.

I can believe that I still watch you videos man. Seriously I was searching for a lesson or a cover of Six - All That Remains That was 12 or 11 years ago. The only thing that I remember is that I was 13 years old and now I have 25. Still love you fantastic videos and that awesome way you play guitar. Thank you!

I remember watching your video about how having your son has changed your life and you were stepping away from posting. I learned the interlude to master of puppets watching your video and was just starting to step into trying avenged sevenfold and bullet for my valentine. I've advanced as a player and upgraded to a kh602 purple sparkle after seeing your black kh love the active EMGS. Thanks for having a positive impact in my playing. Your a truly gifted player.

Great to see you are still shredding it. I just checked that it was already 12 years ago where I started watching your vids. Made my day finding this today!
