We all have traditions when it comes to chieftancy. I am one of the first Ghanaians post colonial. Some of you have no idea of the protocols. Before you carry another tribe's chief on territory not yours you need to seek permission well before the day arrives. We were taught this even in school. Please let us stop flexing egos and learn each others dos and donts . Let us humble ourselves. Accra was chosen as the capital and during colonial era when it was agreed that the seat of government had to be transferred from Cape-coast. For this reason every Ghanaian can live in Accra. That said, it doesn't mean one should disrespect the GA peoples' culture. When you go to Rome you do what the romans do. So if you can't respect a regions do and donts then stay in your yard. Also, the comment made that proceeds from Ashanti region's gold, cocoa etc was used to develop Accra, why not? It is the seat of government and capital, but occupied by the GA people. Benchmark most capitals in this world. The other regions' proceeds have been used to develop capitals. So sad that the generation behind those of us who struggled, sacrificed so many atrocities are taking the great dividend yielded for granted. By not affording respect to all. Every tribe has contributed to Ghana's well being. So please take on the maturity lense.

There is no chieftaincy here in Ghana that is bigger than the Ashanti kingdom. The Ashanti kingdom was once a confederation. I'm not surprised b'cos during the 1901 war all these people in the coastal areas were in support of the British to defeat the Ashanti kingdom. The British were not strong b'cos of their artilleries but instead, our brothers we in support. The hate and the covetousness started long long ago. If a Ga chief is taken on a palanquin in Kumasi right now nobody will make noise out of it because Kumasi is a seat of kingdom and culture. Hahaha interesting indeed, though I'm from Nzema. This situation has happened before and I do believe the Ghana traditional council or the national house chiefs should sit down and solve the problems before it'll germinate to different thing. Because I heard the host say whether the Ashantis have forgotten the katamanso war which is very dangerous. Because the katamanso war was not fought alone by the Ga/adanbges. But the British brought together the Akwapim, Akyem, Akwamu, krobo and Ga/adanbges and the British with Serra Leone and Nigeria military to fight the Ashantis. So we should twist history to make it sounds like the Ga/adanbges were able to defeat the Ashantis. Again the Ga/adanbges should also remember how the Ashantis defended them against the Fantes in a war. The Fantes wage a war to kick the Ga/adanbges from the coastal areas and Ashantis came to defend the Ga/adanbges to defeat the Fantes in 1811....? We should learn to live in peace. Thanks

The comments are disrespecting to Asanteman, but know for sure that we are all one, and Asante resources have been used to develop Accra together with that of Western and Bono Ahafo region.

The fact that resources are from Ashanti doesn't make Ga land Ashanti land. Ga's blood was spilled on 28th February which in turn caused independence. Does that make the whole Ghana a Ga land? Let's not be tribal. What is wrong is wrong and what is right is right. We all contributed to the development of Ghana. We are one people thus we are all equal.

The Chief in question is not even an Asante chief. But Akyem. So why blame Asantes and insult for something someone else did ? No Asante chief will come to Accra and disrespect. Did the Asante chiefs who attended Rawlings funeral ride in palanquin ? In Ghana there is deep seated hate for Asante for now, they think anyone with an Akan name must be Asante. Keep hating .

Tell them the name of the chief and where he is from, it seems you know him personally. Talking of traditions and customs you are expressing hate. I only hate galamsey and greed.

I’m not the one insulting other tribes. Read the comments of Gas here on the video insulting unprovoked. If you watch the other video, you’ll see the Asantehene’s emissary had already sat down and minding his own business. The incoming Akyem Chief was in the palanquin.
