Did the scupper transducer scrap when it was on the ground? I want to mount mine there but it feels like it would stick below the hull.
@kelvinb71

No it did not scrap at all, I just had to make sure it was recessed enough. I have since sold that kayak but the new owner raves on how well constructed it is!

Hi Kevin. This a an awesome setup. Prob the best I've seen! I just bought a trolling motor mount. I also have a ff running off a yak power. Do you think I could run a trolling motor and a ff off of 3 7ah batteries? Sorry if its a dumb question but Im new to trolling motor and marine electronics.
@kelvinb71

Hey there MDLV, no question is dumb, yes I do have the FF running on the yak power system, however i have a separate 55AH battery designated for the trolling motor only.

For when you lift the trolling motor, what is the last plastic piece that you're handle sits on/in?

Im wondering if that trolling motor will hit bottom when in shallow water? Like how shallow can you be in water with that motor? Where i fish there's allot of areas that are about a foot or two deep!

Great job on this yak... I’m in the process of modifying my yak. One question is, did u mount your trolling motor battery down. It looks like it’s in a reall good spot. Just wondering how u got it to stay so it’s not sliding around in there

What holds the battery tray in place? I've got a 55Ah battery coming and I'm trying to find something that it will sit in so it doesn't slide all over the place. It's fairly light (38lbs) but I don't want it sliding freely inside the kayak
@kelvinb71
6 жыл бұрын
diver165 I hot glue it to the bottom, I also attached it to foam support. I knocked the battery tray so I can slide it out easily.

diver165 links maybe for motor and battery etc maybe? Also have you tried standing in your boat and your thoughts on standing in it?
@kelvinb71

James Powell sure I purchased the motor off Amazon, it's a Newport Vessels kayak 55lb thrust and the battery was purchased from Batteries Plus Bulbs, it's a Duracell 55ma Deep cycle battery, I replaced the handle with paracord. Makes it easier to handle.
@kelvinb71
6 жыл бұрын
Almost forgot, I purchased the lift kit from BassYak. I used paracord instead of the wire that can with it. I did some mods on that also so it can easily be removed from the kayak.

www.energizedoutdoors com has a sub 18lb 50ah lithium battery that will give you twice the runtimes of SLA.
