It's become a very powerful combo for just about any formation out there. Very little can compete with it. Though Artemis doesn't require Valentine as long as there are multiple DPS with each variation of "The Crew" since he will just Observe them.

I know a lot of comments have said this already, but I agree with the theory that at least one or two of the races that are unused yet listed will be Evergreens for Light of Xaryxis. Granted IDK enough about Spelljammer to know which ones are more likely. I'd already come to terms with Asharra being ineligible for the first two patrons, but it was Trials of Mount Tiamat that really made me understand why she's only the fifth strongest DPS, and why her nerf was so devastating; which is a shame because a big reason why I love her so much is because her multi-attack shreds through armored bosses which Trials has in abundance. My first lost trial (which to be fair was Grand Torment, so it took a long time for this to start screwing me over) could 100% be boiled down to "I lost too many bond champs too soon". Maybe this will change once I get more Exotic Champs (and upgrade more Legendaries) to give me another bond option if Day 1 decides to be evil, but given that I'm a long way away from unlocking Xerophon and Blooshi, I'm still gonna farm Zorbu stacks meanwhile just to have him as a backup for Trials.

Giff and Plasmoid from what I know would be the most likely. It is unfortunate that there has been a wide array of Attribute Feats for other DPS, but Asharra is still being left out for her availability.

@@tyredack That's doubly glaring when you consider the recent update that added feat slots to everyone, so now it'd be easy to slap a Con or Dex feat onto Asharra without sacrificing a feat buff.

Sweet video as always, thanks! One thing I either got wrong all this time or you forgot to mention, though: PotPourri isn't just the go-to pick for Ash as DPS because it requires one less bonded support (I mean it's definitely handy and an extra perk but not the big one). The main reason has always been that she double dips on it, receiving it once from the Bond itself and once more from Paragon. It's more powerful than the other two options for her first spec because of this alone. It's surprising to me you didn't mention this when in the same video you insisted once more on the OP Nova/Valentine combo, which is kind of similar in principle. I'm doubting myself now, but I've played and experimented with Asharra more than any other DPS so far, and I'm fairly sure both the Outgoing/Incoming effects tab on her and her actual damage output match her essentially getting a third Bond for free if and only if she has Potpourri as her first spec. I don't have Valentine but that combo seems pretty cool too. Especially since without Valentine Nova's other spec is always better as far as I'm concerned: in most situations, it's basically a choice between adding 5 or more full sets of stacks to The Crew or adding 5 or less half stacks to it (unless there's another nuance I've been missing all this time with what the game means by "100%" and "50%" in this particular situation? I hope not, but I've burned myself before ^^). And by the way, does Ash really receive The full Crew twice even with the Valentine trick? I mean, you pick the first spec to make it happen, so the group that was already buffed doesn't count twice, and the secondary group three slots away only counts for half of their levels. With just Nova on her own, picking her right-hand spec and slotting her so she includes Ash in the Crew along with as many as possible of the highest soft-cap champions in the formations, isn't her overall buff just as good if not better? (I'm insisting on the soft cap thing as well, because it can make or break Nova's buff in my experience. For instance if you have to use someone like Makos who caps at an outrageously low level, he contributes very little to The Crew compared to someone like Tyril whose cap is over 10 times higher. Everyone can give her 1k levels beyond their own soft cap, but what each champ can contribute before that cap varies immensely). On another note, Nrakk is much more than a filler for Exotic in my book. These days he tends to be my second non--bonded pick alongside Ulkoria. Granted, I've been a massive fan of Nrakk long before I even recruited him, in no small part thanks to how much your Seat by Seat series made me dream (and how well you hyped him throughout ^^). But he has yet to disappoint me since I started using him. For Asharra especially. It might also have to do with how much I value Ulkoria's Spell School stacks (more than you it seems?). My favorite and most efficient Ash formation right now is Potpourri + Half n Half, always avoiding Kent and other non-magic attackers you recommended. Orkira, Donaar and Granma with her Acid spec for the first Bond, and then Calliope (over Briv mostly because of her magic base attack), Freely, Avren and my beloved Penelope for the second Bond... for now (I'm reluctantly contemplating switching her out in favor of Dob when I get my hands on him just to see if 9 stacks of magic school is worth it for me with Nrakk buffing Ulko's buff to everyone else). For now, 7-8 stacks from a Nrakked Ulkoria is already amazing for me, and the Githzerai Focus on a stick also buffs Ash herself and Orkira directly, and Penelope, who doesn't get the Ulkoria treatment but she's still SO good! Granted, in many formations I have to settle for 5 stacks or even give up on the omega magi dream to slot in more tanks (then I go Briv or even switch to Exotic for Blooshi, Nova and Tatyana, and at that point Virgil, who I like a lot too, but I wish he didn't share a seat with Ulkoria). Oh, I almost forgot to address Xerophon. They've been very underwhelming for me so far even when I min-max and babysit them throughout a run. I mean, it's a LOT of work for a buff that you only get at best one minute out of two and a half (Edited: maths isn't my forte; I originally counted 2 minutes without the ult, but it's only 90 seconds when the cooldown is at 150s). While their ultimate is on cooldown, they're basically a dead weight. I mean, when everything about a champion is based on their ult, I'd rather have a Spurt whose ultimate can basically be permanent. Am I missing something or is the spike you get for one minute so great that it justifies not getting anything out of them for a minute and a half in between their ults? (And working for them instead of having them do work for you ^^)? Fingers crossed I haven't been doing Ash formations wrong until now, and you're not about to burst one or more bubbles for me with your answer. But if that's the case, I'd rather know so I can adjust, of course. Sorry for another War & Peace, I hope these at least make you smile and aren't bad reads for you. Looking forward to any extra light you can shed on this game for me. Very fun and clear video as always, in any case!

You are absolutely right about Asharra double dipping for her Potpourri. I meant to add it in text at the 2:45 bit and didn't get it in, though I thought I did. Wouldn't be me if I didn't screw something up, somehow. With the Nova + Valentine combo she indeed receives it twice because of the interaction between The Crew and Socialite. It's not about the scaling change that happens, it's the fact the 2-slot and 3-slot are categorized as different buffs, so Valentine's Socialite will copy the second version onto DPS Champions if they aren't already receiving it. (side note that Artemis does this naturally through his Observance as well, so he alone doesn't require Valentine as he will Observe both from other DPS as long different DPS has each version) This will be better than scaling a single instance of it as hard as you can because buffs are multiplicative. So for a random example let's say without it you scale it from e20% to e28%, that e28% is competing against e20%*e20%. I do love Nrakk and all the shenanigans he can get into, it just can be very difficult to make what he's offering your group equal to that of a legitimate buffer, but he's certainly still viable. I just really hope one day he gets his own actual raw damage buff formation ability. To get the best out of Xerophon you really do just need to sit on them and farm up to make them worth your while. Adaptability+Perfect Imitation really can spike hard and potentially capitalize on that spike with some form of BUD damage, potion or otherwise. At the end of the day your formation sounds 100% solid, Pot/HnH is on par and easier to just flow with, especially if you've invested in it at all. And if you do go Dob that just fits right in still having 14 WIS and scaling up Ulkoria. I do briefly mention how the likes of Donaar and Dob are better if you're using Ulkoria, but I probably could have highlighted it better. Hopefully I got everything in there, it's very late and I had a long day so sorry if I missed something or structured things in a weird way and sound like a moron!

Hallo and thanks once again for a very informative video! This is what I have been looking for from all IC information sources, how the mechanics between champions work. My friend told me there is no use in sharing formations because champions are not geared the same, but still, knowing how things fit does help a lot! My problem is often that I have one formation running for an event which needs to break decent ground into the zones, another is busy with patrons and then making up a decent-ish formation with what is left is kind of frustrating, especially when I want to run a Timegate which also needs to go the extra miles for its rewards. Knowing how some champions interact with each other will definitely make a big difference when making these choices. Once again, much appreciated and if I could, 100 likes for this one!

It is true that Champion power levels will be vastly different from player to player. But, like you say, knowing how everything works is a great way to know how all the pieces will fit together to a formation, so glad you're able to get that out of it!

@tyredack
Жыл бұрын
That's part of the problem with Asharra is that she needs unlocked Champions to be able to get 4/4 in both of her Bonds. That being said, always stick with Potpourri. As a completely fresh beginner you can pair her with other Core Champions Makos, Tyril, and Arkhan to get 4/4 Potpourri. You'll want to replace Arkhan eventually since he isn't a buffer, but in the case of a newer account getting that 4/4 Potpourri is pretty important since Asharra double dips in it, receiving it once for being a Potpourri herself and again once you have 4/4 slotted. The second Bond is where you really need to start unlocking Champions. There are 3 Exotic Evergreen Champions you can unlock by playing the game (Dragonbait, Blooshi, and Xerophon) but Blooshi and Xerophon are pretty hard to unlock and Dragonbait shares Seat 11 with the strongest buffers in the game. If you plan to go Half n' Half instead, then Ulkoria will be the evergreen you want to unlock because while she isn't one of the Bonds you'll focus, she is a very powerful support for magic users. For that Second Bond you really need to think which direction you want to lean and start working on unlocking them. Use the vid as more of a foundation for your future with Asharra if you plan to stick with her.
@Lucas-dj4zb

Can't Arkhan be a "support" for potpourri by usurping Orkira and Makos formation abilities?
@tyredack
4 ай бұрын
Arkhan will only Usurp them for himself. The only way this method works is with someone like Artemis, who then observes the enhanced buffs from Arkhan directly with his own Observance. The only thing Arkhan offers Asharra is qualifying her for 4/4 Potpourri if you have *NO* other options. With the amount of Champions that have even released since I made this video, that's only getting easier too!

Is Tatyana any useful though, if Blooshi is taunting all the enemies onto herself?
@tyredack

I might need to revisit these someday, because this was done quite a while ago and things change as time goes on. In that Seat alone, Nrakk has become probably the best Exotic based buffer in that Seat when used right since Season 6. And the fact Jang Sao in that Seat is a good Potpourri option as well with her release. But, more to your point, it's likely Tatyana will take some hits along the way to at least scale her a little bit, but it isn't the most amazing synergy to be sure.
