Ashness Bridge is an iconic landmark situated in the stunning Borrowdale Valley, an old stone packhorse bridge spanning the tumbling Barrow Beck and it is a popular tourist attraction.
The route starts from a National Trust carpark ( Members free) and follows up Barrow Beck to head onto the 3 Wainright summits of High Seat 608m, Bleaberry Fell 590m and Walla Crag 379m.
The hike is a circular route of 5.5 miles and offers a great view of Derwent Water and the Lake District National Park.
The route In-between High Seat and Bleaberry Fell can be very wet but a new path has been laid to avoid some of the bogs. It can be great fun bog hopping rhe rest of the way.
The best time to do this walk is when rhe Heather is in full bloom in August, as the slopes are covered in Heather for miles.
